While KW goes a long way toward realism, we want to have a smaller pack that blends nicely with stock, and other stock-alike packs. While extending the stock game, try to maintain a gameplay balance with stock. And do so while adding: Another layer of large rocketry, beyond the 3.75m ARM/NASA update that was added in KSP 0.23.5.   6. 6S Service Compartment Tubes (SCT) It's a tube.. and a hull... and a cargo bay... and a.. well, just about everything. And it is only 2 PARTS!!! For Kerbal Space Program. Simple, Sturdy Stock Styled Seamlessly Stackable It’s so short! It’s useless! I’ve modeled it so that spherical RCS tanks could fit inside. Most of the other stuff like mechjeb, flight engineer etc, are not bigger than spherical tanks and they can all fit inside.. Together. If you need more space.. Just stack them!!! (check the pictures for tricks) Also, when stacked to double, the 1x1m structural panels fit right inside! Just put whatever you need on them There seems to be a door, but I can’t open it! You can only open the door manually during EVA (no servos I’m afraid, to keep it reliable and simple), so you can pick up or leave bags or KAS stuff you store inside. Also useful when transferring fuel from the tanks inside (you could do this on the other hand by zooming the camera inside the compartment, although this might be wonky and frustrating). Any future plans? There are some texture quirks, so I might do an art pass later on. I don’t plan adding more parts. The tubes appear first in “general construction” in the Tech tree cause before that, you practically have nothing to put inside. Thanks to Snjo for Firespitter, and well, listening to my irritating ideas xD The firespitter.dll is bundled in the pack. If new Firespitter versions appear you should freely overwrite the old one.   7. Welcome to the development thread for Making Alternate History! Inspired by the alternate history universe of Eyes Turned Skyward, this pack brings you a set of stock-a-like Artemis / Altair landers and habitats complete with all the parts necessary for a voyage to another solar body. Making Alternate History was previously labeled as 100% dependent upon Textures Unlimited, however this is revised and Textures Unlimited is now only required if you would like to use the Mk1 and Mk3 Habitat modules. At time of posting, Textures Unlimited is version 1.9.x and no one can be responsible for any issues that arise from Textures Unlimited 1.9.x being run on 1.10.x. In testing with this mod, things worked fine. Thank you @Shadowmage Download Textures Unlimited: Download Making Alternate History Update 1.10.1 now from Spacedock: Download Installation: Extract the contents of the GameData folder to your GameData folder. Structure should then read GameData\MAH NOTE: When Bluedog Design Bureau addon is installed, the descent stage engines will function as liquid hydrogen and the descent stage fuel will change to liquid hydrogen / oxidizer. When BDB is not installed, the engine will function as a standard LFO engine and the descent stage fuel will adjust accordingly as well.   10. I've put together a selection of parts meant for the building of bases on foreign bodies. Designed to tesselate on a cubic grid and represent a more permanent foothold. No strict mod dependencies Configs provided for MKS, Near Future Electronics, Community Tech Tree, and Connected Living Space functionality. Benefits greatly from a means to build away from the KSC e.g. Ground Construction/Extraplanetary launchpads Heavy parts, may benefit from Ubiozur Welding for structural Integrity. Reasonably light weight otherwise, tried to keep computer resource usage to a minimum.   15. It's a busy day at the Space Center as the new T.R.A.P Engines arrive from General Universal and Kerbal-Tech. These engines were predicted to have a much better performance at a higher altitude than previous engines. Jeb's test flight was scheduled for the next day. This gave the engineers only half a day to mount the three new engines on three identical planes. The next day Jeb goes on his test flight, testing the "Mouse T.R.A.P" engine. Jeb reports that the engine is performing as expected at high altitude. Jeb tests the other two engines successfully. This is a mod which adds three new engines: The Mouse T.R.A.P, the Bear T.R.A.P, and the Rhino T.R.A.P. The engines all have the same model, that of the stock Rapier engine. The way they work is by having better performance at low altitude, at the cost of using more Intake Air, and better performance at higher altitudes by using more liquid fuel, but less Intake Air. These modes automatically switch, but you can also manually switch the modes. The engine switching works pretty much like the Rapier engine. I made the actual changes to the .cfg files, creating this mod, but the idea was all my friend @Lucast0909's. He's given me permission to publish this mod, and he says that I don't need to credit him, but as we all know, the idea is half of the mod. My idea for version 1.1.0 of this mod was to use the variant switching introduced in KSP 1.4 to enable you to have more than one model for the engine. The idea is that you can have the model of the Rapier, or say the Panther, even the Swivel, picking the look that works best for your plane. However, I found out that that is not possible. I will try to learn to model, to give these engines better textures. I think these engines are tech tree and cost balanced, but please let me know. Please give me any feedback you have. Added bulkhead sort, all the parts have a custom bulkhead of "kp", so you can quickly get to all the Kerbodyne Plus parts. You can also search for "kp" or "kerbodynePlus" in the tag search (as well as "behemoth" or "behe" for all the behemoth parts and "t404" for all the t404 parts). T404, T202, and behemoth have custom bulkhead profiles, so you can sort that way to ("t404", "t202", "behemoth"). I added new tag entries for all parts. Rebalanced all the part costs and tech tree placement. Increased the size of XL Landing Strut. Rebalanced weight and heat tolerance for all parts. Added new RSP-A3 Radial Stack Point (acts like a hardpoint with 2 attach nodes. It's physicless so it transfers mass to the part its surface attached to like the cubic octagonal strut). Changed the texture for T404 inner walls from orange to black, because in some cases, the t404 b struts were turning orange when zoomed out do to mipmapping. I'll probably remap the texture to prevent this in the future. Changed the size and placement of the particle effects for Behemoth engines. Added the new T404 B-2 and B-3 trusses. Added new T202 B-2 integrated truss. Added T202 BA-64 Battery Array - 6000 ec Added 3 new structural Tank Couplers each with 10 attachment points but different configurations. These new orange structural parts will make up a third tier of construction for the purpose of making even bigger superstructures. Added S6 radial decoupler part of the behemoth launch system. Added T404 H-3 which replaces the older T404 B-3 (naming was weird before, the size was 2 and it's configuration and purpose are fundamentally different). Added Kerbodyne S6-7890 X4 Tank Cluster (4x 7.5m tanks, t404 center) and Kerbodyne S6-7890 Tank Cluster (5x 7.5m tanks, no t404 center). Remodeled all T404 parts adding struts to sidewalls (now they really look like trusses!). Remodeled Leviathan Solar Wing increasing total length by 20M. Remade panel animations. Replaced the central mast truss from alpha texture to real geometry. (Each panel has its own collider, making for a part with hundreds of colliders. This causes lag. However, when the part is destroyed every panel tears off quite spectacularly. In ksp 1.1, on my machine, the lag was tolerable. I plan to rebuild this part in the future to accommodate a more compact animation, so will try to optimize the physics at that time). Redesigned T404 3.75M Adapter (adapter is now hollow, has cool struts similar the XL-6 Landing leg and now longer holds any electric charge). Adjusted the scale of the CM 1 internal space for compatibility with the new 1.1 crew overlays. Added new S6 7.5M Fairing (increases to 15 meters in diameter) There's an easter egg I left (mistake) I wonder if anyone found it.   19. Hey there, I am looking for an upper stage parts pack, which would allow me to make something like the proposed Exploration Upper Stage or something along those lines. Maybe I have missed a mod or so, but I think apart from SSTU, which is quite WIP still and the Talisar upper stage, which is part of CMES, there is no independent (and recent) heavy upper stage model out there, isn't it?   20. This is a persistent problem with parts mods - any mod i use with parts, which is I don't get all the parts from the pack. I put the folders in game data as told or as a second try put the parts in the parts folder but some parts just won't appear in the VAB or SPH or work with prebuilt ships. I do have a mac if that makes a difference. Does anyone else have this problem? What am i doing wrong with the install?
