  1. Hello, I've just purchased ksp via Steam and downloaded it, but the program won't load. (64-bit Windows, ver 1.10.1, build id = 02939, unmodded) The program window itself opens, but only shows a black screen. All of the system requirements seem ok. I've tried uninstalling / file check. I'm running it on my admin account as well. What should I do? https://imgur.com/a/YMstwu8 this is what the screen looks like. Also, I can't change the 'read only' of the file. The dialogue says it's done, but when I open I it again the setting 'read only' doesn't change. Can this be the problem? The dxdiag is pasted below. ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 10/15/2020, 21:30:02 Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 18362) (18362.19h1_release.190318-1202) Language: Korean (Regional Setting: Korean) System Manufacturer: SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS CO., LTD. 2. I purchased the Making history DLC and used the code to add it to my Steam account. After putting the game down for a while, I re=downloaded it and suddenly my entire DLC was completely gone from my steam account. Is there any way i can get this fixed, or get a new code for my DLC? I might be able to dig up the proof of purchase, and if i do, will either Steam, Squad or Blitworks be able to help?
  3. Hi, Im wondering if I can install ksp on kali (i need steam) becouse kali is a debian baced and practicly a skin of ubuntu with some different tools. Im trying this tonight so i will post my result here. Thanks, Mine 36
  4. So, basically what it says on the tin. Freshly installed KSP 1.9 with both expansions. Clicked play and I get a window called "Kerbal Space Program -Unity {NUMBERS}" with the KSP icon and a progressbar, but the window closes before the progressbar fills. Using Windows 7 Home pro. Anything else I need to specify?
  5. Not sure if this goes into modded or unmodded, but anyways, here's my problem: Before getting KSP on Steam, if I needed a new instance of KSP to test mods, I'd go to the KSP website > account > download, then I'd get what I need. In this case, I wanted to install a new instance so I could have KSP with the DMP mod only. So, after getting KSP (no mods) on Steam to make updates and DLC a bit easier, the website thinks I only bought the steam version. But I bought KSP alone in 2013. I can't update any existing non-Steam instance without having to buy the game again, and that's my last resort. What do I do?
  6. Hello everybody! I am very excited to update to the new release, but it is running at around 5 frames per second anywhere other than the main menu. The menu is perfectly smooth. I have tried to set the graphics to lower settings, but that didn't improve the situation. My computer is an Ubuntu Laptop that isn't a gaming machine by any means and has pitiful memory, but it runs 1.7.3 fine. I bought the game through Steam if that helps. I did a clean install, but the behavior persists. I already looked through the KSP.log file, but I didn't see anything unusual. I saved a copy of the file if anyone wants to look at it. Thanks for looking!
  7. (brief) Discount on steam for direct buyers? Quite some time ago i bought KSP but it was direct, but now due to having to download the whole thing every time an update comes out (update might just not work for me) and having to constantly watch my mods so they stay up to date, i just want to buy it on steam. I know they no longer hand out steam versions due to it costing money on their side but could there be a discount for people who have bought it that would equal the cost on Squad's side for giving it away? Either by buying a code from the steam web page or some form of discount. I'd be willing to pay a bit more for a steam version. If im missing some fundamental detail for why this isn't a thing please tell.
  8. I'm sorry if the title wasn't too clear, but in case you have never used Steam, you have an inventory full of cards that you can sell for money or "gems". Is there any way to earn these in the game? Feel free to yell at me if I'm unclear. Thanks.
  9. As the title says.... Is v1.6 for Linux actually released? I play on two different computers, one Windows, one Linux. The Window system got the update to 1.6 first, there were some complaints about mk2 Lander but it all worked out in the end. Later that same day I went to play on my Linux system and I *thought* I had update dialog telling me about 1.6, doing upgrade, etc. I played, got the same warning about the lander and some other parts but it worked. Then trying to play again the next day I get incompatible save errors and it won't load. I started investigating this thinking the save had been corrupted only to realize I'm still playing 1.5.1 Now I'm wondering, did I imagine my Linux system updating? Did it revert? Is it even out?
  10. Years ago i purchased KSP directly from the website and i want to know if there is any way to get it for free on steam since i've already purchased it. I'm tired of having to re-download the game every time it gets an update and i want to switch over to steam. Any help would be appreciated.
  11. Can someone please help me: When I downgrade ksp to older versions CKAN thinks I still have the latest version.I thought the installed version will be recognized automatcally. Could it be because Steam does not change the Build ID when downgrading?Or is it because of CKAN itself? If its the second option, how can I fix it? Thanks for helping
  12. Now that Kerbal Space Program has Steam Cloud, there are some improvements that could be made to the way it uses it: A save is not just a single file - it's a directory containing several files. That directory is the thing whose state should be synced. Syncing the state of invidual files only can lead to the creation of saves that are hybrids of two different versions of the same save. Saves should not be shared between KSP installs that have different sets of mods installed.
  13. I've installed the game and the Making History expansion through Steam running on Ubuntu 18.04 (Bionic). With the expansion installed, the game no longer runs. Sometimes it crashes before it can load the main menu. Sometimes it crashes or freezes at the main menu. The farthest I've ever made it was to click through to the Making History select-a-mission screen, at which point the game froze. If I uninstall the expansion, the base game still works fine. Is anyone else seeing this behavior? Anyone come up with a workaround?
  14. I've been uploading some of my aircraft and rocket designs to Steam, and this one in particular has 120+ downloads/subscribers. How can I tweak the design in the editor and upload it without it creating a whole new workshop file? I have tweaked at least one design in the past (adjusting aileron settings, same as I want to do to this other file) and it uploaded as the same file with a change log in the workshop, keeping the subscriptions and presumably auto-updating the workshop file for all subscribers. No idea how I did this as every time I try to do it now it just creates a new workshop file. Anyone have an insight as to how this works?
  15. There are https://www.trueachievements.com/game/Kerbal-Space-Program/achievements, how to make it work on Win10 KSP Steam version? Should a Win10-XBox-app layout be summoned by Win+G on KSP?
  16. The headline basically says it all, on Steam it says the game is running but it isn't Any Idea what i should do? https://imgur.com/a/yWhOUF2 I've had this before and i could only fix it by hard resetting my computer as it wouldnt even shut down
  17. Hey, Back in the days I was too young to have ever heard about steam, so I bought the direct download version. Now that steam workshop is a thing, I really want to have the steam version without paying money to get it, just for a steam workshop function. Is there any way to make my hopes and dreames reality? Thanks anyway
  18. Patch 1.4.4 is on its way and with it various improvements and fixes such as language corrections, FX improvements, and more! As part of our commitment to continue supporting and improving upon KSP, 1.4.4 will add some cool and previously unavailable Steam functionalities that will enhance the KSP experience to users of this platform. For starters, we’ll be launching the Official KSP Steam Workshop hub, along with its full in-game integration. Since the conception of the Making History Expansion, we knew that mission-sharing was crucial for its success. Now, with the integration of this platform into the game, we are making it easier for creators and players to share Missions and Crafts without having to mess around with copying folders from other websites and putting them in the KSP folder tree. This feature will allow you to upload your creations to the hub directly from the game, as well as to subscribe to and vote for your favorite missions. Additionally, it gives us the ability to feature missions from the community and drive visibility to these creations. With patch 1.4.4, it will be more straightforward than ever to enjoy all the content made by the players for the players! This patch also implements Cloud Saves on Steam for both game saves and missions. Once 1.4.4 is released, players will be able to access their save files and mission files from any computer by logging into their respective accounts. Last but not least for 1.4.4, we’ve improved and expanded the controller support for the game via the Steam Controller framework. With the intention of closing the gap between the mapping found in the consoles’ Cursor Mode and the one currently supported in the PC game, we’ve carefully provided configurations and full support for DualShock 3, DualShock 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One controllers, and added a new configuration for the Steam Controller and one for HOTAS-like joysticks. We also added a supplementary contextual controller set for EVA situations, in addition to the currently existing ones for the Menus, VAB/SPH commands, Flight Controls, Map, and Docking Mode. Click here to see the new controller layout. We hope you enjoy these new features. Keep an eye out the patch’s release later this week, and stay tuned for more news and everything Kerbal via our official forums and our various social media channels. Happy launchings!
  19. Why dev's can't bring steam features into game? I would like steam synchronization and workshop with mods, crafts and scenarios!

    Steam Key

Hi, i've bought Kerbal Space Program on 2013-06-28. Back then there was no Steam version available. Can i get a key for activating the KSp Version i bought back then on steam?
  21. Just one question: Where is the Steam Workshop ???
  22. Hi I bought this game on the 25th April 2013 and wondered if it is possible to now have a Steam key for it rather than it just being a Store copy....? I think that it wasn't available on Steam at the time (?), I'm trying to unify my games to one platform if possible. Thanks for any advice. EDIT: Found that this seems to be the cut off date...... March 20th 2013 at 1:00 pm GMT -6:00 ....never mind, seems like I have missed out.
  23. Hi, I wasn't sure where to put this. I searched steam skins and saw an outdated Skin someone made in 2014, but their link no longer works, and I wonder if there are any other space or kerbal themed steam skins anyone knows about.
  24. @Badie , the KSP team and all fans - Steam has recently announced it's own prestigious game awards. This is a new opportunity to promote KSP and to bring the word out to poor fellows who don't know the awesomeness that is Kerbal Space Program. Basically you can nominate any game on Steam for a category you see fit. I hereby encourage all Steam users in our community to contribute and help KSP and its developers earn another shiny award; they really deserve it! Details: http://store.steampowered.com/SteamAwardNominations/ I nominated KSP for: The “Just 5 More Minutes” Award You have an early day tomorrow. You need to get some sleep, so you’re just going finish one more thing before you decide to tuck in for the night. Just one more. Wait, one more. What’s that you say? It’s 2:30 AM? This award is for the game that keeps you playing late. UPDATE: Kerbal Space Program made it into the custom, write-in category of The “Boom Boom” Award - Let’s face it: explosions are pretty great. In a blockbuster movie they’re thrilling. In a celebration with fireworks they’re beautiful. And when they’re behind a cop putting on sunglasses they’re nothing short of glorious. These games understand the fine art of detonation. -BroForce -DOOM -Just Cause 3 -Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes -Kerbal Space Program Voting for this category starts on December 30th: "All four write-in categories will be voted on simultaneously on December 30th. On New Year’s Eve, the winners will be announced and we can bask in the collective glory of the 2016 Steam Award Winners!" So be ready to click heavily on KSP on the 30th this month. KSP really deserves a Steam Award! Details here: http://store.steampowered.com/news/26415/
  25. I want to buy the game as a gift for my friend, who does not use steam. The KSP Store page is directing me to GoG or Humble? I can't just buy it directly from the KSP store? If I buy it from one of those 2 sites, will they still get a login to the KSP Store? Will it come with any 'bloatware'? Or will they be getting the same standalone game that I use? Thank you so much for your help! - Chris
