  1. One thing I've always loved to do with Kerbal Space Program is plan my craft. It's dang fun, and even if all my wacky designs never actually pop off the drawing board, it's nice to be able to brainstorm. The way that I was able to do that was memorize the KSP Parts catalog and just draw simplified versions of the parts, which worked splendidly. But for that I needed the KSP Wiki to show me what the parts' properties were. I was wondering if a KSP 2 Wiki is going to come out soon so I can start designing bases and all the cool stuff they showed in the cinematic trailer! Thanks, - QvestionAnswerNeeded
  2. The KSP api has become pretty large now, with over 2000 classes, and as it has no documentation it can be a struggle to find out what anything does. There have been a couple of attempts to create community driven documentation, but they have all been difficult to update and have stalled. I present to you the KSP API Wiki It uses reflection to build up a framework of all the classes, methods, fields etc and then allows you to attach a comment to each. It also downloads the squad API documentation and includes that. It is pre-populated with the comments already created in the anatid documentation created by The_Duck Come if you want to know what the modding communities best guess of what a method does, and if there is a class that you have used that isn't documented, please help out by adding an appropriate comment. No account required. Huge thanks to @micha for providing working hosting allowing this project to continue.
  3. Hello.... hellooo. I've created this topic cuz' uh I don't know how to get grades on this wiki cuz' now... I'm a "newbie"... this is not cool welp mi plz
  4. Hi. wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com (and http://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/Main_Page which the main page links to), and kerbalspaceprogram.com, and the wiki IP (87.117.251.9), get a time-out when I try to load them. I have the same problems with an alternate web browser (Firefox, Waterfox, Chrome), and with the browser started in safe mode. I have flushed the local DNS cache, and the browser cache, and cleared all kerbal-related cookies. ping fails, and tracert fails after 7 hops through zayo.com, the last being lhr15.uk.zip.zayo.com. Though www.kerbalspaceprogram.com works just fine, as does forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com, and the wiki does successfully load through a proxy, and on my phone (via the same router). Perplexing is that the tracert only fails (presumably) just before or after reaching the wiki. I'm having to manually insert "www" into official site links. Obviously this doesn't work for the wiki, it's the wrong subdomain. This official wiki is essential for how I play this game. I faintly recall having similar problems in the past, but I don't remember how it was fixed. I do remember, that the problem will not go away on it's own. I have no idea what's going on! I want to play KSP, but I cannot play it seriously without proper access to the wiki. If anyone has any ideas for diagnosing or fixing this, please let me know.
  5. https://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/Kerbin The page content looks broken to me, all the content is inserted inside the infobox to the right of the page, while the whole left is blank. This doesn't happen for e.g. Duna. I've tested in 3 different browsers. I can hear you thinking "it's a wiki, edit it!"... I've even looked at the wiki sources... but couldn't figure out what's wrong. I've looked at the content, Kerbin/Params and Templates. If there's something missing or dangling, that breaks the page, I couldn't spot it. Anybody else that could give it a look?
  6. At least for me, right now. All formulas in thrust-to-weight ratio show red "failed to parse (unknown error)" For example here: https://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/Thrust-to-weight_ratio Also happens in the part page. https://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/Parts#Thrust-to-weight_ratio
  7. wiki.mechjeb.com drastically outdated and missing information. Using MechJeb 2 version 2.7.0.0 KSP version 1.3.1.1891 Windows 64it As a result of a lack of information I have no idea if some of the issues I am having are a result of a mod bug, or incorect settings for the craft im flying. There are whole sections missing completely (Aircraft Autopilot window for example) and some sections are incomplete with settings missing. This leads to lots of questions and not sure where to post questions. In Aircraft Autopilot under PID, what are those settings? What is "Kp", what is "i" and "d". How does the "VertSpeed" fields under PID effect "Vertical Speed Hold" if it effects that at all. I have one aircraft where vertical speed hold fails completely and results in dratic and fata pitching ocillation. No idea why? There are settings on the Assent Guidence window that have no informations. What is "Q"? What are the force roll settings for? With an aircraft, I had Autoland completely fail to make touchdown. Was doing good untill the point where it should have moved the craft to make contact with the runway but instead just hovered there untill the plane lift stalled and crashed.
  8. I have confirmation for anyone who wants to edit the wiki that the “up up down down left right left right” cheat menu doesn’t work in the original Xbox port of the game.
  9. This may as well be called an ad, but this is the place for chatter about non-KSP things, so here goes! I have undertaken the task of resurrecting the Pocket Trains wiki, about the game Pocket Trains. Unfortunately, the wiki has seemed to be abandoned by everyone, as the last edit (excluding my edits), was from nearly 2 months ago. Any help would be appreciated on updating the wiki (as many pages are redlinked), providing information on articles, and just trying to resurrect the site. 10. Hi there. I feel like a little bit of a community outsider, as I was new to the game at the end of last year, but over the last month I've been trying to update some of the Wiki's most lacking pages, hear and there. After seeing an edit to the Mobile Processing Lab page (by @EsterbanLB), I realised how wrong/outdated much of the info there was, so set about rewriting or adding it. I'd appreciate any suggestions of major things I've overlooked, or mistaken. One part I made from scratch is the engineer level research rates table (as shown below). I just made careful observations, so I'm a little wary that it might not be perfectly accurate to 3 significant figures, and I certainly don't have a nice neat equation to explain the numbers, either: I've made major edits to a bunch of other pages, including the experiment storage unit, all the radiators, and have also been trying to resolve all the thermal behaviours of the drills and convertors (wondering about heat management at different engineer levels, etc, as I asked about here). But I thought the MPL was a fair place to start trying to solicit some sanity checks, for a start. I hope I've not bulked out the test tooo much, but this part has a particularly large number of features and nuances.
  11. The wiki has been getting barraged by spambots over the last two and a half days. They've made 17 user accounts and 300+ new pages of pure spam. I've been consistently blanking their spam but I can't actually delete the spam pages or ban the spammers. UmbralRaptor has banned nine of them, KasperVld got one, but there's still seven left unbanned at this point. I'm not even sure it matters because they just pop up new accounts like dandelions and continue at it. There's also still around 300 pages of blanked spam that have yet to be deleted, and I'm guessing there's going to be another 70-150 new pages that I'll need to blank tomorrow. If anyone with delete and ban privileges on the wiki is reading this, please take a look at KasperVld's talk page to see the list of account that still haven't been banned. I've also listed all of the spam accounts, so the pages that still need to be deleted can be found in their contributions sections. Keeping up with the spam is getting tiring, and I'm hoping that we can increase spam restrictions on the wiki, possibly by asking users easy questions about the game whenever they want to create a new page. Does anyone have any other ideas?
  12. It looks like there haven't been any updates to the Parts wiki page in over a year: http://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?title=Parts&action=history That seems unlikely since 1.1 releases have introduced new stock parts. I've been using this page as the reference for my kerbal calculator http://fommil.github.io/kerbal/ is there a better versioned reference other than parsing the .cfg files?

  14. I can't log in to the wiki! When I attempt to log in, it says that I have cookies disabled, but I actually have them enabled, and I haven't blocked them from the wiki in browser/antivirus settings!
