Sigma Mod Expansions

I love playing with mods and I usually like to tweak some features.
So I have put together some little expansion packs for a few of those mods.
I hope you will enjoy playing with them as much as I enjoyed making them.

Sigma: OPM Recolor

This mod changes the colors of the OPM Gas Giants:
Sarnus, Urlum and Neidon are now light blue, red and orange.

This way, they will have a completely different color compared to their analogues
just like Jool compared to Jupiter

vBQOsVy.png

Sigma: OPM Tilt

This mod gives Urlum (OPM) a 90° axial tilt.

Rings and moons are tweaked to be consistent with the planet's tilt.

RnkCokt.png

Sigma: PluronKhato

This mod will add a Kerbal analogue to the Pluto-Charon system.

If used in combination with Sigma Binary it will be a binary system.

I6KiXoS.png

Sigma: Eve Recolor

This mod changes the color of Eve to make it more similar to Venus.

If present, clouds will be recolored as well.

RmheK7W.png?1

Sigma: Jool Recolor

This mod changes the color of Jool to make it more similar to Jupiter.

If present, clouds will be recolored as well.

foInDqO.png

Sigma: Antennas

A set of 4 antennas, recolored and resized versions of the stock Comms DTS-M1
because color coding is fun!

If RemoteTech is installed these antennas can be used
to set up a comm system around Jool.

kM3aK75.png

Sigma: OuterSpaceComms

A set of 3 antennas designed to probe deep into outer space.

If you have one or more mods that add planets in orbit outside Jool
you will be able to reach them with this set of dishes.

My other Mods

Sigma Binary

This mod will let you turn custom and/or stock bodies into binary systems,
without the need to do all the calculations yourself.
This also will allow any user to decide between playing with or without binary systems.

fRCikDR.png

Sigma DMENSINS

The purpose of this mod is to be an "universal rescale mod"
The only thing you'll need to do is set the rescale factor you want in the settings
This mod will take care of changing all the planets for you.

SDbanner.png

Stock-alike Solar System

Kopernicus is a wonderful mod, and there are a lot of great planets out there.
This mod will rearrange bodies from many different planet packs
in order to create a Kerbal analogue of the Real Solar System

Great idea!

I dont use any of the mods you listed other than RemoteTech, but I would definately be interested in the antennas. :)

Not long ago, I started thinking about trying out making/tweaking some modded parts, and I 3D modeled my first ever part...I made a new GPS antenna/receiver for use with the Figaro/KerbalGPS mod...

Download?

I'm still doing the final tweaks, plus I wanted to see if there was anyone interested.

Since you asked they'll be coming soon

btw, should I open a thread in the other section for the downloads?

You might check out http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/43840 - zzz made a number of nice models - about half way down is a "Hub" in two variations - one makes a great green house and the other a great workshop for ELP.

Those look really nice, but I can't just steal them :D

And I used to love the celss greenhouses from cerebrate, so I've made those more for nostalgia than for cosmetic reasons.

Actually if you look at the celss github page (the one with licenses) at the bottom is a "Thanks" to zzz for the greenhouse model - zzz released them to the public domain.

PS - intermediate antennas much needed - would be happy to download and use.

Hahaha I planned to put the first download links yesterday but I had to work late.

I'll put something this evening, sorry for the wait-time, but I want to make sure I make something which is at least half-good :D

This evening I'll upload the opm stuff and if I have time to fix the last things about the antennas I'll upload those too.

Hey, even if you messed up on something, we can always let you know about an issue for you to tweak!

the Urlum axial Tilt is greatly needed.

I agree with you, sadly for the current limitations of KSP it's either:

- No axial tilt, but planet and its moons rotate around their axis properly, or

- Cosmetic Axial Tilt, but the planet rotation needs to be set to zero and the navball won't show you the correct direction of the cardinal axis (prograde, retrograde, radial and normal markers will be fine tho.

I decided it was worth it, I don't expect everyone to like it, but I hope someone will enjoy it :D

I know :D

but OPM is so good I don't want to put something out that can ruin the experience of that mod

links are coming in a few hours, I promise

Moved thread to add on development

thank you, I was wondering how to do that

- - - Updated - - -

Thank you! The tilted Urlum looks great, I'm testing Pluron now. One thing I've already noticed is that the barycenter, like any black hole, has a glitchy navball.

I will take a look, maybe there's something that I can do about that, but I wouldn't count on it :)

I don't see any downside tho, other than it being aesthetically unpleasant and maybe causing epilepsy :D

Sigma, I'm working on making a patch that moves Plock instead of deleting and replacing it in addition to doing some other stuff.

Pluron is actually using the same model and textures as Plock, and will be updated alongside Plock.

The only reason why I changed the name is that Capt told me he didn't think my vision of the pluto/charon analogue was enough stock like, so changing the name was my way of putting some distance between OPM and PluronKharon.

I still don't know if I will change the names when the OPM version of Charon is released.

Anyway you are free to change the name if you want, I just wanted to explain why I made that choice for now.

--edit--

I also wanted to say that "Plock" as a name always felt like not a good fit to me. All the other planets have their name derived from both the latin and greek god, Plock is the only one that does not fit in that scheme.

Pludes would have been a more fitting choice, but I don't know if I like it or hate it as a name :D

I've done some small tweaks like mess with orbital inclination as well.

Here's the config. I'd really like it if you'd post it on the front page as an option or put it in the download as an alternate config. This will work with future versions of OPM without editing:

Did you check that both bodies (plock and charon) rotates around the barycenter in the same time and are mutually locked?

That is the main goal of my expansion and I feel like it wouldn't look as cool if they didn't do that.

Yes, they do.
