Terrible choice for a mod presentation (not dissing the mod, its awesome) but...... Everybody already knows about KAS . How about picking out some of the unsung hero's that nobody notices? Looks like someone was lazy today.. "link KAS- write 3 sentences that EVERYONE already knows. Done"... BORING!!

Yeah this has been featured several times before. Heck, I think it was the first modding monday.

KAS is one of the most fun mods I know of. Building a Flight of the Phoenix-style contraption out of parts leftover from your own crashed ship to get home is a unique challenge. Erecting a tower using the winch is pretty awesome too.

Recently, I used KAS to experiment with artificial gravity. (Inspired by Mars Direct) The onboard instruments only show the average acceleration of the whole vessel, but it was fun to mess with the concepts anyway. Unfortunately, KSP isn't designed for this, so some of the torques don't work as they should. After a while, I replaced the cable with a pipe, which made it behave more naturally.

Not my best video by far. The aspect ratio is messed up, and something went wrong in compression. But it was worth doing anyway, just because of the unusual application.

Also, the modders are on the cusp of releasing Kerbal Inventory System which would have made a far better choice seeing as it's new and does a lot of the things KAS does (but better).

Wait, what's all this then? I did a search and didn't find anything on Kerbal Inventory System...

On-topic - I think I was playing with mods for a little while before KAS fell onto my radar, so you can't assume that everybody has heard of it - the main audience for modding mondays may be the players who are seeing this on facebook, rather than the official forums or the official reddit.

Still - personally I agree, I'd rather see the new mods on modding monday. It gives them nice exposure (and there's a higher chance that one of mine get featured then ).

What did you search for? I searched "kas kis kerbal" on Google and the first hit was for it. Also searching for "kis" in the Kerbal Attachment System thread finds it.

Or just read the last 10 pages or so of the KAS thread. It comes up a lot.

Ah, I see - it wasn't clear that it was a part of/spin off from KAS - I was expecting to find its own thread.

I think that in the spirit of new players, highlighting some of the more popular mods is a good thing. Especially one that enhances the game in orders of magnitude.

On the flip side of that, it is nice to hear about some of the lesser known mods that may offer different gameplay that no one has thought of before.

... Last video wednesday was about a somehow terrible video from a famous youtuber, and this modding monday is about a good mod and very famous... Theres some improvement( :D ), but still why present something so well known ? Its just like presenting FAR or KW rocketry... Anyway, im never really hyped with modding monday myself since i mostly play stock (i should mind my own business i know :P ), what i always look forward to is devnote tuesday :D

I, as a new(ish) player, agree with this! I don't know many of the mods yet, and this looks like one I want to try someday. Right now learning the game so mostly staying stock, but this looks fun.

+Rep to you :)

I'm afraid I have to agree. I LOVE KAS- any modded save of mine MUST contain it- but Modding Mondays should be reserved for those sweet little mods that are really good, but that nobody has heard of yet. Boxsat, for example, was completely unbeknownst to me until Modding Monday showcased it. I've got it now, and I think it's awesome.

Again, I shall reiterate- moar little mods that nobody knows about yet, please.

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
