Hey I had a question. Will the waves in the water you are working on, affect a floating craft? Or will the craft settle into a static position same as it does in vanilla?
That one.

Anyway, yer a wizard, blackrack. It's looking gorgeous!

I answered this a page or two ago already, it won't affect a craft for now.

Could a script be set up to gently rock the capsule/boat/whatever when smashed down?

Could you add better splashes?

Cloud you add better sounds, and get rid of the loud-and-ugly-sounding "WHUMP" when you hit the water?

Could you add some nice noises of water lapping against the side of the craft?

Wonderful job on the water. It's coming along nice.

SmallFatFetus

Don't know about the splashes, haven't looked into it yet. I guess I could set up a script later on but it's not a priority on my list.

For the sounds there is already a mod.

Highly impressive looking work. As a guy who has occassionally used Unity for work, I take my hat off to you, it's not easy to make it look this good!

A few questions if I may; what sort of framerate hits are you taking for this mod? Don't need to be too specific, I'd just like a general idea of how heavy this mod is to run. Also, does this mod apply to Duna and Laythe?

The mod does have an editor you can download (as usual, in the OP, go check it again, and come back then) and run to create your own .cfgs for other atmospheres, and in my memory there is at least one .cfg for duna in the thread somewhere already.

Hi, I have a something that you might or might not be away of, and likewise might or might not like to know, but on linux[ubuntu 14.04] scatterer makes these latitude lines on the skybox when in atmosphere.

Its because of OpenGL.

First Post:

-Lines in the sky can be fixed with the "ForceOFF aniso" button or by forcing anisotropic filtering off from your drivers

-ForceOFF aniso setting isn't persistent

F10 or 11 for menu, then toggle the setting. You have to do this each time you start KSP.

Known issues of newest version:

-Map view lags behind and has issues with the effect covering the planet when on the ground

-OpenGL and dx11 have plenty of artifacts and are only there as a placeholder. Dx9 is the only recommended mode right now. There will be better OpenGL and dx11 compatibility once I'm done making major changes to the shaders and I'm happy with how they look.

I couldn't figure out how to create different configs for the planets, either. I tried doing an Eve on but it just overrides the default config. Even with the names changed, ect. In game Kerbin was purple.

Didnt ask about it because, well to be frank - most of the knowledgable guys on this thread are annoyed at stupid questions and I thought I might be making a stupid error somewhere.

Config tool DX11 ONLY!

This config tool will allow you to generate new configurations for the atmosphere,

Planet name will allow you to replace a chosen planet's atmosphere, only one planet will be affected.

only one planet will be affected.

only one planet will be affected.

Try to read at least 10 pages back and check the known issues section in the OP before posting

Ah, the OP. What wonders it holds...

Yup, thanks. That'd be why I didn't ask in the first place. I read that, tried it out, changed the name so that theoretically only one planet would be affected, and it didn't work, as I stated. So I goofed somewhere, and thought "man, I want to ask about that but I don't want to get crucified for it." Self fulfilling prophecy I guess.

My point was that I was looking for more detailed information about getting multiple planets to work with Scatterer than is given in the all coveted OP. For all of us that may not be as familiar with coding or modding, it would be nice to have a picture of the working config file or a quick step by step.

People will always ask stupid questions and ask the same questions, and while it certainly is irritating, politeness should always rule the day.

Honestly, it wasn't even a repetitive question (or at least not one I've seen here before). I'm guessing support for more than one planet isn't implemented yet, hence the disclaimer in the OP. The mod is still a WIP, some bugs and limits to the functionality should be expected.

Politeness certainly should rule the day, there is never a call for rudeness no matter the situation.

I think a relevant question is: has anyone successfully run a game with any body other than kerbin showing scatterer effects while in atmosphere or in orbit?

And, if so, what steps did you take to make that happen?

I did this a while ago http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/115408-WIP-Scatterer-atmospheric-scattering-mod-%28v0-0151-20-05-2015%29?p=1848985&viewfull=1#post1848985, there is also this laythe screenshot http://i.imgur.com/FAswdO2.png

It only affects one planet at a time, default is kerbin, but you can change it to Eve for example (make sure to type the planet's name correctly with caps at the start).

The only thing you need to do is type the planet's name in the box in the config tool before pressing generate. If that doesn't work, try going in the cfg/xml file yourself and manually editing the planet's name.

If that still doesn't work then I messed something up between different updates.

Ah! Brilliant. Thanks! I was having trouble with it defaulting the purple atmosphere to Kerbin. I'll try it out tonight and see if i can get it to work or not.

Thanks for clarifiying that it affects one planet at a time! For some reason I kept reading that line in the OP as "scatterer is applied to the specified planet but not all of the planets at once" - as in if you have it set to Kerbin, then Kerbin's blue atmosphere isn't applied to every planet - but it wasn't registering with me that it also means you can only specify the effect to be on one planet. Sorry!

As for wave collision - it is implemented in CryEngine, so that's definetely possible. From how it works (and how it bugs) I guess they are pulling info from shader. Something like normal direction and surface heigth for a given position.

Can't wait for an update :P

When ModularFuelTanks is installed, the game breaks on loading a save.

Starts in space center scene at shown position, can't pan the camera or click on anything.

b9d9ce4065.jpg

This was in my log (The error below is repeated several dozen times sequentially):

[LOG 17:22:54.609] AddonLoader: Instantiating addon 'ShaderReplacer' from assembly 'scatterer'

[EXC 17:22:54.658] NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object

scatterer.SkyNode.UpdateNode ()

scatterer.Manager.Update ()

scatterer.Core.Update ()

Full log here: http://puu.sh/ihvid/f7bf7dc39e.log

I didn't test this exhaustively with all my mods, but when I removed MFT, everything worked.

Edit: Removing TweakableEverything while leaving MFT installed resulted in no errors.

ugh i don't know weird ....
