Yes, but you can use the request thread, or use the Report Post feature.

Not sure on the convention for rocket company threads. I'm not often on that bit of the forums.

Keep your eyes on the Announcements or Daily Kerbal subforum and wait for someone like Kaspervld or the SQUAD account to ask for moderator applications.

Be aware though, the job may not be what you think it is. It's a lot less of this:

As someone who used to be among the brass of various admin-positions of a forum with well over a million users, I cannot overstate how correct this is. But BOFH-skills when combined with a sysadmin role helps.
