Question about spaceplanes

Is it possible to make fins and ailerons or whatever they\'re called not help with roll?

My planes spin far too fast and I want to be able to fly them straighter. As it is, barely moving my joystick causes the plane to spin at insane speeds even though the roll gauge in the bottom left corner is barely off center.

Despite this, I can\'t remove the fins because I need them for pitch control.

What do?

Don\'t use symmetry, and try to eye it as you put on on each side. This will let you use pitch in the same way, but roll will be disabled, like how the Vangaurd shuttle has two different parts for wings, which cannot forcefully roll.

Nope. not doing it :(

They\'re still doing roll. Do note that I am using the parts built into the 0.15 release, and I believe your Vanguard shuttle was made using C-7 parts before the 0.15 release.

Then I really don\'t know... darn. I used that occasionally and it fixed all my problems. Time to find another workaround. What you could do, though, is simply add more wings to get air around so you don\'t rely on control surfaces so much.

You can do it by centering the control surface with the plane from nose to tail, but that isn\'t always ideal.

Your plane may be too small and is snap rolling. Bigger planes tend not to have many problems (Other than not enough lift :P) as they are bigger and slower to roll.

If I remove all control surfaces, it\'s roll rate is perfectly acceptable, but as soon as I add any size of control surface it rolls too quickly.

My dillema is that I need the control surfaces to be able to pitch properly -.-

The biggest problem is that this game is just not yet advanced enough to handle space planes. It\'s really only efficient if you have a joy stick, and even then, the planes use the same physics as the rockets, which make them pretty unrealistic.

Our instrumentation is also too basic.
