Are those drop tanks on the last one? I don't see them attached in the second picture, and if so then it's a spaceplane but not really an SSTO.

No, They're not drop tanks. As you can see in first picture in the right bottom, there is no stage except #0.

Hi all,

I seem to be having a problem putting payloads in the cargo bays. I can't attach a docking port to the docking port in the bay.... It just jumps around and misaligns. :(

Any suggestions? Operator error is always of course actively assumed!....

Same problem I have, too. Have to detach cargo bay, attach cargo to docking port and re-attach cargo bay.

Could you possibly try a Liquid Fuel only SSTO?

Thanks for rep. Liquid fuel only SSTO is possible with nukes, obviously. I think I saw one in the forum. I'll see if excluding oxidizer is beneficial enough.

So I made 402's fuel tanks with triangular configuration. Now centroid of triangle is aligned with cargo bay center. With this configuration, cockpit is pushed to front and balances with 4-engines at rear.

That phrase right there earns you some rep. Kudos for the intelligent design principle! I've been using it for a while now, but it's always nice to see I'm not the only one overthinking things. Oh, and nice birds too

Rune. Playing with configurations to find balance is very rewarding when you manage to marry form and function.
