Rescue Missions to locations other than Kerbin orbit?

The rescue missions to other moons/planets are a nice touch, however in Hard mode there is very little cost incentive to do them given the time they take to do & delta-V needed. Going to Pol to recover a ship + kerbal is a very long flight even on max time accell (if the planets aren't aligned right).

Single contracts generally are money losers or very small profit, so I tend to combine as many as I can into one flight.

I had 3 different rescues at Mun yesterday so I combined them into one and used a Mk1-2 to get them.

For another planet I think I would make sure I just have a seat for them and do several other missions if possible while I was there.

I had 2 more that where around Kerban and took a tourist up for the third seat he got a REALLY long flight :)

I think there should probably be some probability associated with if they join your crew. I mean clearly they are Kerbalnauts for another agency (you didn't launch them up there), maybe they want to return to that agency rather than join yours.

If one agency left me stranded in orbit and a different agency came up and rescued me, I think it's pretty clear which agency I should be working for! :D

I like that this concept has been expanded to include recovering the pods.

I wouldn't mind seeing the pod surrounded by debris to make the rendezvous a bit more interesting...

That could couse a lot of lag. But yes, awesome idea.

But debris would tend to drift away given time. If you've ever tried to park two vessels next to each other without docking them, you know how quickly that happens.

A future development would be more than just a pod, capsule, etc, but other bits of ship connected - also if there were reports stored in the occupied part of the vessel. I keep right clicking when my rescue Kerbals leave their original craft, but so far none of them have any data to take.
