A recent thread revealed there are quiet a few eagle scouts on this forum, and I thought it would be cool to have a thread about it. Have you gotten your eagle scout award? Let me know on this thread and I'll add your name to the list of Forum User Eagle Scouts! Are you a boyscout striving towards eagle? I'll put your name under the In progress list! Were you a boy scout, but never made Eagle? That's alright too! I'll put your name under the Forum User Boy Scout list.

Feel free to also include any honors your got, how many merit badges you received (if you know) as well as your Eagle palms. I'll include these with your name. (not a competition, therefor I won't reveal which awards are the most prestigious, they will just be listed)

briansun1, I'm also more in to venturing now. It is a lot more relaxed and fun to me. But I still plan on finishing Eagle.

Same here. The level of maturity between BSA and Venturing is kind of crazy. At-least in my experience.

Yeah, boy scouts has kinda turned into a stereotypical horde of sweaty 11 year olds being loud an obnoxious....it was a lot cooler when everyone was more mature than you.

Venturing to me more resembles a group of more mature teenagers who like the outdoors and having fun. Plus its not gender specific, so I get to have fun outdoors and stuff with my girlfriend. (her dad is the leader of the venture crew we started)

Gads... no... second class at least, maybe made first class... I really don't remember. I never made Eagle, I know that. I spent more time at the Sea Scout base than I did with my scout troop (even before I was in Boy Scouts), and switched over to Sea Scouts early at age 11? or 12. My dad and three of his friends started (and ran) the Sea Scout unit I was in; They started it after they came home from the Korean War... they were all scouts in the 1930's-40's, and Navy during the war. Navy family!

Space and Exploration was one of my firsts, and that was before KSP was a thing!

Troop 731: Fallbrook, CA

Earned Eagle a day before I turned 18 (cutting it as close as possible... not recommended).

No idea how many badges I earned... it was more than required, though, that's for sure.

Theoretically I would've earned a few palms if I hadn't gotten Eagle at the last minute... no regrets though.

Truthfully, (as is the case for most Eagle Scouts I know) my mother is the one that should have earned it

Edit: Also done a little Venturing and more than a little Sea Scouts. Also volunteered as an adult helper for a few years.

I also was a Sea Scout, and I had a couple arguments with the leaders about precise measurements. They said all we had to do was learn GPS, I was more in favor of GPS + celestial navigation, although I'd be hard pressed to use a sextant now.

I think I only made it to 'Seaman'. Eventually I got wrapped up with other things... high school, Crew team (which was right next to the Sea Scout base lol), etc. I remember that membership was waning, not too many were interested in it. In searching the web, I found this article... sad to see.

Side note: I've decided not to reveal which awards are the most prestigious (IE palms and such) to keep this as far away from a competition as possible. If you guys think the competition part won't be a problem, I'm also fine with giving a list of awards and such, and saying which are the highest in prestige. What do you guys think?
