Is it a large texture? Unity defaults to down scaling everything to 1024, so check your exported textures.

I export at 2048 so that the texture will look better hmmm... so would it look better to export at 1024 or would it look worse?

Alright guys up until now i've been using a single texture per ship so as to save on space and ram,

I want to ask if you guys would like multiple textures per ship?

Pros

It would look better

Cons

It would take longer

It would use more ram(not by much)

It would increase the size of the download.

Please make your decision known :)

Should the center of the stargate be a different color?

Just go with a big honkin stone ring for now, we need something to practice driving the jumper through.

As for an event horizon effect, go with whatever unity can easily approximate for a ripply water surface

Regarding the textures, Do whatever you wanna do :D Im always for making things look better so multiple textures is fine by me, but its all in how much work ya wanna put into it :)

Regarding the stargate.... It looks awesome!

Since BSG seems to break unity, why not make a Viper Mk. II with individual cockpit, wings, flaps, engines, structural parts, and intake. Some 10-15 parts, so it's not going to be a giant explosion, but have some variety in destruction (because that's why KSP exists).

Those are some very good Ideas, as for the rovers I dont think so, the space ships are ok mabye release II or III, as for dream chaser... well lets just say my plate is already full :)

I love the Venator. You should make an aclamator and some arc 170s to go with it.

The venator is my best and favorite so far, Acclamators are coming.. Hopefully with cargo bay so you can deploy vehicles.

Arc 170s maybe at the same time as I release the vipers :)

BSG does not break unity I just have to re do the textures and export at 1024 in multiple pieces

As for the vipers... Count on it Maybe not individual pieces but they are coming. :)

Hi sorry I was just informed by my father that that particular car is part of a old comedy movie.

Involving repossesion aliens and a glowing green flying '64 Chevy Malibu :confused:

Maybe in the future I'll put something together, I dismissed it out of hand before because it just sounded like a car :)

Oh they are coming Do you think I would do a Venator and not do a star destroyer?

The Death Star could cause trouble in the way that it would crush the KSC. :)

And due to the vision range would only be visible when you got within 3k of the center so you would already be inside.

Distant object viewer could help as it would allow you spot it up to 75k away but that would not be far enough for a true to scale replica so for actual use maybe a 1/2 scale would allow you to see it from 20k away from its surface and still be 100k in diameter. i'll look into that after I finish the current stuff.

1. Unless there are going to be markings on the back, the dark areas in the white stipe might as well not be there (flag decal there, instead?)

2. The ship doesn't appear centered, I was gonna throw some RCS on there, and it is offset.

3. The CM seems in the geometric center, and it is likely actually closer to the turret location front to back (and midpoint in cross section).

the Battlestar looks amazing :D i love the defense cannons on top (nice little touch!) that and the fact that it uses Tylium for fuel . Props for accuracy ;)

I will finish texturing the cargo bay and back today, sorry I forgot the RCS on the model I'll do that as well

What sort of flag would you suggest for the dark circles? or do you just want them removed?

I put on the scorch/scrapes on the hull because from what I've read the S-class is a very well used all-round Ship and those kind are usually a bit battered.

Keep telling me any problems so i can try to fix them.

I would also suggest that you use this http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/98943 For the large Ships as some are almost as large as the load distance , so by the time it loads you are about to crash into it, this mod will allow you to see them from up to 750k away if you set the distant vessel rendering to all vessels and set the distance.

Edit to earlier post

I was wrong about the death star with the new version of the Distant Object enhancment You can spot objects up to 750k away so it will be possible to do a full scale replica of the death star :)

They do look cool and they would not need extra parts just a animation.

AHAA!!!! I've figured out the problem with the animations I've tried to do. I'm using unity 5.0 and ksp legacy animations need 4.2.2 or earlier :(

Now I have to redownload Unity ;.;

I'll save that for after the first Release.

Those gear look pretty cool. Course that would mean a couple other parts, and some inset boxes to snap them into.

I think I'll give it that texture as well it looks cool, unless you have any objections?
