What does "TrackIR" do?

Recommended Posts

Last time I heard it was something to do with controls and the camera. A joystick or a VR? Most likely something like the oculus rift or a webcam. I don't really know but again I think its something to do with controls/camera

Also take a look at Edtracker if you are thinking of getting one. MUCH cheaper and less load on your CPU doing the same thing without the need for a camera or video processing to computer from the lights what you are doing. EdTracker uses the same tech they use in smart phones and drones

Edtracker would be 3-axis-tracking via gyroscope/accelerometer and therefore not nearly as powerful as TrackIR. The additional IR tracking of TrackIR provides more accuracy, too. They're definitely not comparable.

But.. if you don't have the money, Edtracker and similar low budget open source projects surely are a better choice than none at all.
