As you might know we’ve been working with Gamer’s Edition to produce the

official physical release of Kerbal Space Program. With a physical

edition we didn’t want to give you just a USB drive or disc with the

game on it, but we wanted to make something a bit more special, that’s

worth investing in. Like every Gamer’s Edition, the Kerbal Space Program

collection includes a Steam code, is packaged in an individually

numbered presentation box and is part of a one-off run that will not be

repeated.

What’s in the box?

Four hand-painted

Kerbal figurines - Bill, Bob and Jebediah Kerman plus a standard

Kerbalnaut, each showing varying emotional reactions to the adventure

that awaits.

A stirring diorama backdrop - which optimistically suggests you have made it to the moon.

Official Kerbal Space Program

mobile - allowing you to ponder the hypnotic vastness of space and the

quantity of space junk and unlucky Kerbals you have scattered across it.

Official Kerbal Space Program patch - proudly displaying the Latin motto of the program: “Demum Pervenius†(lit. We’ll Get There Eventually).

“It’s a real honour to partner with one of the most enthralling indie games of recent yearsâ€Â, said Jon Hicks, Head of Gamer’s Edition. “Having

spent many hours abandoning Kerbals to uncertain fates in orbit, on the

moon, or within several feet of the launch site, I feel more than

qualified to do the same in the real worldâ€Â.

The Kerbal Space Program Gamer’s Edition campaign runs from today until midnight BST (4PM PDT/7PM EDT) on 29thof July and costs $80 (roughly £55). It’s available for purchase now at The Gamer’s Edition website.

If you wish to learn more about Gamer’s Edition you can find them on their website, and on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Fly safe!

That looks cool! A bit disappointing that there's no Valentina Kerman figure though. I guess this has taken a while to put together and the Val model wasn't available in time.

looks pretty cool! My only complaint is the lack of a Valentina Kerman, but I know how these things work. This box set was probably in production long before Val came to us.

Ditto on the lack of Val.

Still cool to see a physical release though.

I don't really care for that box art... doesn't really capture the mood of the game, I don't think. It's more like something you'd find in a scrapbook, assembled from a bunch of assets just lying around. It would've been cool to commission an artist among the community to make a special illustrated cover for the game.

But wasn't that the basic premise of the game? The Kerbal Space Program assembles it's rockets from various bits they find lying about?

Box art is very playful, it stands out, but a space or KSC scene would have been more representative/expected/"safer." Part of the key art for the game, a moonscape, is present as a diorama, which I would arrange in front of the box (If I found $85 lying around without a prior claim on it.) The box art is kind of a flat version of the mobile... which I think is awesome. I like the patch, the Latin phrase is new to me. Everything gets cooler, in Latin ;)

I would have added the atmospheric glow to the Kerbin on the backdrop, right now the Kerbin looks like a dead blue/green rock. Also, is the rocket part of the backdrop? If so, why a launch rocket instead of a lander? Also, where's Valentina?

I will probably ask for this for my birthday.

It is worth pointing out: Estimated delivery November 2015.

Oh crap I didn't see that. Chrismas it is then.

There should be an option to buy without a software license ---> for all of us who already own a store license AND a steam license.

We have fully supported the game already - we deserve a shot at owning the extras without having to buy yet another license.

Ditto, but I'll buy one, and then I guess there'll come an offer to buy the Valentina Edition later on.

And being such a sucker. I'll buy that one too ;)

How does this version of KSP update? Through the KSP store?

Are there any pictures of the actual figurines?

The site says it comes with a Steam key... no physical disk.

Which is useless for me as I won't ever run Steam, and dammit I wanted a physical copy of the game where I could say "I played that in the 0.22 beta version long before it went gold"

Ah well.

I'm missing something here... why are people so opposed towards Steam? KSP doesn't have DRM anyways.

I want this SO BAD but there's no way I can swing $80.

Same here, I might be able to pay for an alternative without a steam key, $60 or so?

A stirring diorama backdrop - which optimistically suggests you have made it to the moon.

Quite optimistic indeed... does the Gamer's Edition come with RSS?

I agree with the general sentiment that Val should have been part of this.

Also, can we get some actual pics of the model/figurines? I'm not a big fan of spending $80 based on clipart representations of the actual product.
