Chaka Monkey Exploration Odyssey is a space program based on NASA and Boeing proposals for future missions. Part models from a wide variety of authors have been licensed, and new original models made, then combined with all new textures, sizes and configurations, to create craft files depicting the proposed missions. This project is modeled at 75% real scale.

 

♦ Recommend installing this pack into a clean KSP install for the first time.

♦ Latest version of Raster Prop Monitor needed for IVA function. Link included in download.

♦ Copy everything in provided GameData to your GameData

♦ Copy VAB folder to Ships

♦ Copy Subassemblies to your save (optional)

♦ Please remove any previous version files before installing!

Dear Esteemed Monkey Rocket Designers,

We, your humble colleagues at Void Aerospace enthusiastically salute your latest grand achievement with all honest sincerity.  It is remarkable engineering feat. 

As you are undoubtedly aware Void Aerospace had to cease all launch operations due to pesky inquiry from Central Committee based upon unfounded

accusations of safety violations from handful of surviving staff and/or their widows.

However with clever name change, we expect to resume all space exploration activities using Monkey's outstanding launch vehicles, command modules and landers

as soon as paint dry on new sign.

Sure. 

 

Nice as it is, the venerable 1-2 Pod IVA replacement has not been recently updated. You gotta give Alex some IRL time before he swings back around to that. There shouldn't be any real issues other than that particular CKAN message.

 

We are extremely pleased with the quality of ASET products and our partnership with their development team. Chaka will continue to support our license agreement and use that IVA group even if they are not updated soon.

Really we have to do so much testing in sandbox mode that career support is often a foreign language.

Sometimes. We will not explicitly support R.O. because keeping the pack running in stock KSP is complicated enough. However, from time to time various brave developers have taken it upon themselves to provide support. Indeed, even more brave developers have created new products dependant on those brave endeavours.

I'm still unclear, what is updated with it?

I have realism overhaul installed but when i load the game it just stops on CMES/orion in the loading screen and just stays there.

Is there a way to fix this?

 

My Loading screen gets stuck on CMES/POD/orion_les/part/xOrionLES

is this because I have realism overhaul?

or do I need another mod?

Yes, we can not guarantee operation with R.O. at this time.

Maybe you should have told me that rather than being vague

Could you please tell me and other forum users what parts support R.O and what parts do not/break the game? That would a lot more useful than talking about other developers. Sorry if I am being a bit snippy, I had like no sleep last night.

We don't keep close tabs on which developers are volunteering their time to work on Chaka in RO / RSS at any given time and since we just released the update this week I didn't want to put work on their desk before they have time to get to it on their own. Typically the RSS port is in perpetual WIP status.

Lack of sleep should not be justification for making a jerky strike-through response. Maybe you should do some legwork on your end and browse through the packaged content instead of having everything spoon-fed to you.

Question for users:

 

We are planning a major update to Chaka that will greatly influence pack size and game play. Specifically, the pack will be split into two parts, based on the medium and heavy launch vehicles. Also, widespread simplification of lander technologies will result in reduced overall combined size on disk. 

While this work is completed, please reply here with your wish list of changes to the pack. 

Although we cannot guarantee requests will be granted, it would be helpful to have feedback at this time.

the eagle from space 1999 used to have it now we dont (. one of those with an aset cockpit would be pretty sweet. 

more cool rovers like the malmute, or any of the old bobcat ones. sucks about tracks being busted now. 

landing gear like the awesome adjustable landing gear that used to work. 

landing zones with sequential lighting like outland, aliens and stuff for our reusable stages to land on.

I think it would be nice to have RealPlume support (Yeah , I know you told that you will not support RO but this is not really RO , and I get that this is a huge amount of work to make configs for all the engines , I just think it would make the whole pack to look better overall , also the stock plumes make me vomit:() , If I would know how to write configs I would happily do this myself...(altough it's never too late to try:P)...

hah yeah you cats seem to be a talented bunch so a few stretch goals for ya,

1.2 around the corner forgot antennas will probably be the next cool thing to have. specially tracking ones like remotetech used to have.

oh and forgot conformal fuel,rcs tanks there used to be a mod i think the name was bft or something like those tanks looked pretty slick.
