KSP ignores Resolution setting, launches into small window

Recommended Posts

So... today, I opened up the Settings menu in-flight. (The ESC menu) I wanted to turn down the music, but when I hit Apply, KSP glitched out massively and cropped into a weird sort of square window. The UI did not scale, and I managed to revert to VAB before exiting.

When I relaunched, the problem persisted. I checked Settings on the main menu and the .cfg file as well... my old resolution is still set properly, but KSP ignores it completely.

This is what I get:

This is my settings.cfg (with keyboard bindings removed)

  • 1 month later...

Hey, sorry for the late reply... I managed to fix the problem earlier by rebooting my computer, and forgot to update this thread

However, this time rebooting didn't fix it. I'm going to check the settings again and try Alt+Enter as Andrion s

Nikola707, your resolution is something weird.

I boot KSP into Windowed mode, so I had to tweak the resolution in order to prevent the window getting covered up by the taskbar. That resolution has been working for months now, but KSP ignores it altogether and chooses this square-ish window instead.

Hi Nikola, you are going to have to edit your Windows registry to fix this, you need to find "HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Squad/Kerbal Space Program"

Change Screenmanager Resolution Width and ScreenManager Resolution Height to decimal, and put in the width and height you need, I suggest just resetting them to 1024 by 768.

If your taskbar is in the way, you'll need to hide it.

Don't forget to check that your desktop resolution is at its highest setting, and back up the registry first.
