Anti-Aliasing, nVidia in Linux

Recommended Posts

I can't seem to get Anti-Aliasing working.

Linux Mint 17.1 Rebecca Cinnamon.

nVidia GTX-560ti 1GB

nVidia proprietary driver 349.16

AA is disabled in game settings.

AA is enabled in NVIDIA X Server Settings app.

I have also tried enabling it in-game and not in the nVidia app. And enabled in both. Have re-disabled then re-enabled, etc.

I have a ton of mods now, but this was going on before any mods were added. I am pretty sure no mods can effect this, but not 100% certain.

Can I ask a stupid question?

Are those proprietary drivers or opensource?

My Linux 64bit works with anti aliasing. I have a 680gtx. I have no anti aliasing enabled in the Nvidia control panel, but I do in game and it seems to work. I use proprietary drivers.

The Unity3D anti-aliasing is broken on Linux, sorry, and only fast approx anti-aliasing seems to work, you can enable this per-program by making a profile and setting GLFSAA to True.

It won't be great, it's only equivalent to 2x AA, but it's better than nothing.

So am I just thinking I see a difference? Because if so that’s hilarious LOL

Proprietary, as I listed it :) Can you post a screenshot, by chance?

But there are reports of making it work? In your post on the 1st page of The Linux Thread, you state it's not supported with AMD hardware, but don't mention AA under nVidia in the next paragraph.

Great!!! Now if we can just get v-sync working without having to be windowed I would be extremely happy.

For Vsync, a good fix I found is to create /etc/profile.d/Tearing.sh (as root), and then paste this inside :

#!/bin/bash/

export KWIN_TRIPLE_BUFFER=1

Reboot the computer, and you should be good to go.

This works only if your windows manager is KWin though...
