At present there is no display for any data, so you have no idea of your distance or angle to that target port, but I'm considering it since I've also been mucking about with DLLs a little...

So does this lock rotations to fixed intervals?
No, docking behavior is unchanged, and the petals can clip through one another

When two docking ports get into Acquire mode, they ignore any colliders present (even those on the verge of intersecting), and so collider-based alignment isn't possible.

Good to know. I'm glad I didnt make a collider for it then :)

Ok, the v1.0 is available now over at Kerbalstuff

DOWNLOAD

And now my evil plan:

I'm going to move on to the next stage and create a version that has a docking TARGET as well.

That's right, you'll be able to manually aim and dock using the next version AND hullcamera VDS or maybe just with this mod depending on the license of Hull Camera VDS - I have to check that.

In any case, no sooner then I uploaded this did my brain go off and present the thought that what this REALLY needs is a full setup to dock in "Apollo style" using just your eyeballs for guidance like I used to do back when I played "Orbiter 2010".

So - stay tuned!
