So I'm not sure what you are asking me to do. As I said, I will update this mod for 1.10.x in the next week or so. But that version is only for 1.10.x.

I don't support older versions of my mod, or older versions of KSP. That's simply an unreasonable expectation when I do all my mod work is for free.

Sorry, I didnt mean offence. Would you be ok with my posting the fix i found publicly/openly, for use with "older" ampyear, in this case?

either in text or as a "edited" file? 

I love the mod, I'm not casting blame, just missing 1 of my "most loved & often checked" tool/planner mods

I have retrospectively updated AmpYear v1.5.5 v1.5.6 v1.5.7 on Github with the corrected file.

Unfortunately spacedock etc do not allow you to update already posted release files. So I cannot update those.

Here is the corrected file for anyone who needs it for any previous releases of this mod. (This file is only of importance to those using this mod with RSS/RO/RP1 mods).

Found an issue where after installing Research Bodies and these Filter mods when editing in VAB:  Filter Extensions - Default Configuration ,  Filter Extensions - Plugin and Moar Filter Extension Configs

You lose 3 sub-catagories under science that have to do with Antennas, that are added by these mods: Filter Extensions - Default Configuration ,  Filter Extensions - Plugin and Moar Filter Extension Configs

Tried to attach logs but forms would not let me.

Electric Charge : 50 

Reserve power: 1000

 

(Electric charge was not shown before the update now it works. No problem there but, what I am asking, is there no way to set the standard reserve power amount? I mean, if I understand correctly, pod has 50 EC and 1000 EC as reserve power, isnt it too much?

I use imgur to store the image and use the appropriate link from that site, post here and embedded the image in the post.  Your way works too.

Oh right. So you have Realism Overhaul installed?
Look at the file \GameData\REPOSoftTech\AmpYear\MMConfigAmpYear.cfg
note the second section that changes reserve power on all command pods to 1000 if and only if you have RealismOverhaul installed.
I'm running without that mod and I get 80 (the first section of the file).
If you don't want it remove that whole section. Or change the amounts.

Able to resolve issue - see edit below.

For some reason I can't get AmpYear to initiate the Emergency Shutdown procedure for all types of priorities. The parts being listed in the image don't shutdown even when I attempt a manual shutdown though AmpYear. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot / solve this? Also the AmpYear menu when at Kerbin is just blank, the panel displays but it is empty.

In the image, power was below the cutoff of all priorities (1, 2, and 3), yet still the SAR-X Antenna SCANsat component was still active - even when and after the warning message of "Emergency Shutdown Procedures Activated. Shutdown Subsystems" is displayed.

Some additional information:

KSP Version: 1.8.1

AmpYear Version Installed: v1.5.6.0

EDIT:

Fixed: I was able to troubleshoot and resolve the issues below. Issue stemmed from installing AmpYear via CKAN (even with a fresh install). After manually adding AmpYear it appears to be working fine!

Step one before asking for support:
Install manually as per my instructions.
Step two: Supply logs when asking for help.

EDIT: I can confirm that I am having the same issue with KSP version 1.10.1 running AmpYear version 1.5.8 and SCANsat version 20.4. I have wiped my folder and manually reinstalled both mods and even tried down-versioning SCANSat to V19 and I still get the exact same error. This makes me think there's an issue with my environment. I have updated the below Dropbox link with logs running the latest version of KSP and this mod.

 

Hi @JPLRepo, long time fan and I know you don't provide support for old versions, but was wondering if you could point me in the right direction for fixing a similar issue as @SoRobby.

No SCANsat satellites shut down when emergency procedures activate. My in-game image is virtually identical to @SoRobby's first image. I have also trimmed my mod list down to just AmpYear, SCANsat and my personal MM config that only effects Connected Living Space if installed.

I understand if you're not willing to help out with this, but thank you in advance if you choose to :)

That looks like scansat integration is broken. probably it changed something along the way. so unless you can get a version of ScanSat that does work with the version of AmpYear you are using you gunna be outta luck.

I've put looking at scansat integration on the list for next update. case it's something that's changed permanently and needs a fix.

Hey JPL, thanks for getting back to me. I've found the issue in V1.5.8.0 and fixed it:

File: AYProcessPartModules.cs

Line 2504:

WAS: ScanSatWrapper.SCANsat tmpSs = new ScanSatWrapper.SCANsat(currentPart);

IS: ScanSatWrapper.SCANsat tmpSs = new ScanSatWrapper.SCANsat(module);

Line 2737: As above.

I've done a bit of basic testing and this seems to correct the method fail issue but it introduces a new issue: As soon as tmpSs.stopScan() gets called, tmpSs.startScan() is immediately called. I suppose one of the checks in the switch case isn't being changed correctly.

EDIT: After further testing, it seems that this only becomes an issue if your craft produces less EC than it generates while in full sun. Probably not worth fixing, but just a heads up.

I'm know this isn't yet supported in KSP 1.12, but I do feel from reading your posts that you're working on your mods being updated and such. I'd just like to say thank you for your hard work on these mods, and I would hope you are considering UI scaling as a part of the release when you do get around to them. Higher resolution than 1080p makes some mods with KSP, AmpYear included, almost unusable to anyone without really great eye sight. Scaling up the UI with the stock UI would be amazing.

I understand your pain, but I don't think I will be doing that. IT's because all my mods use the IMGUI method. Which unless I switch it all over to use a canvas can't be scaled with the rest of the UI.

The tl;dr version is: It's a lot of work, and I don't have the motivation to do it.
