I have decided to open a KSP Mods related Twitter account

If you want news on the development of my mods, as well as cool screenshots I take when I am checking them, you can find those here:

Sigma88Mods&style=social

BTW a 15-thread wide posting thing on this is not the best. Ya know you can link to twitter in your profile page?

Sigma Binary v1.5.0

With this update the mod now works on KSP 1.1

Requires Kopernicus 1.0 and the latest modulemanager (download them separately)

all the links are available in the OP

Sigma, does this work with the current outer planets mods (with inhale not specifically been updated for 1.1 nor CKAN)?

OPM is now compatible with 1.1, but not SB.

EDIT: oh wait, they are both :)

for what I can tell, capt is on holidays and has not yet updated OPM to 1.1

for now, OPM is not compatible with the latest version of SB, but I totally expect the issue to be solved on the 1.1 compatible release of OPM :wink:

Nice mod! I'll have to mess around with this:D is it possible to make other objects orbit a barycenter without messing with it? Ex: minimus around kerbin-mun?

no, it's better to leave minmus to orbit kerbin. KSP doesn't really like barycenters and putting something in orbit around them will most likely cause more issues than it solves

Okay, does it tell me what the barycenter is named and does it need to be after Kopernicus and sigmabinary together?

Okay, I'm writing SCF as we are speaking, so this will be QUICK.

@Kopernicus:AFTER[SigmaBinary]
{
	@Body[-] //the barycenter's name. It will probably be Body1Body2, or KerbinMun for example
	{
		%Rings
		{} //add whatever
	}
}

@theonegalen there are multiple errors in the log you sent me, most of them don't look like they should be related to SigmaBinary

but, I am unable to reproduce your issue on this install:

KSP 1.1.2
MM 2.6.25 (tried also with 2.6.24)
Kopernicus 1.0.4 (tried also with 1.0.5)
OPM 2.0 (tried also with 1.9.5)
SB 1.5.2

this means that probably the error could stem from one of the other errors I see in the logs.

you could try to narrow down the number of mods in your install untill you find which one is causing the issue

Interestingly enough, I removed KSPRC to try to save RAM, and the error didn't crop up anymore.

However, wondering what you meant about multiple errors has led me to search my output_log with more than just "nullref" and now I'm also wondering where else things are screwed up.

hmmm so KSPRC breaks sigma binary

interesting, I wonder why is that. I will take a look at its code

EDIT:

found a solution, for anyone interested

Hi,

first let me say thanks for the nice work.

I have the same error message with KSPRC regarding generateBarycenters.cfg.

I am, not technical enough but in the moment i can play ;-)

I saw in the KSPRC channel your fix maybe i am to stupid i will try again ;-)

This is a KSPRC bug so you'll need to wait for @Proot to fix it

I don't think it will take long since the solution is pretty simple :)

OPM comes with a config file for Custom Asteroids that adds asteroid moonlets to Jool and the OPM planets.  But it you have SigmaBinary installed, you no longer have the "Plock" that the OPM config file wants, but Plock-Karen.  So I made a little ModuleManager file so the Plock moonlets orbit the Plock-Karen barycenter.  Here it is:

// OPM_CA_SigmaBinary.cfg by Geschosskopf
// Patch for OPM's CA file for if you have Sigma88's SigmaBinary installed.
//
// If you have SigmaBinary, this file will change the centralBody of the Plock moonlets to the
// Plock-Karen barycenter. No action required on your part.

// For SigmaBinary
@CustomAsteroids:NEEDS[SigmaBinary]:AFTER[SigmaBinary]
{
	@ASTEROIDGROUP[plockMoonlets]
	{
		@centralBody = Plock-Karen
	}
}

EDIT:

Actually, now that I take a closer look at OPM configs, it looks like you shouldn't change the central body

stuff should never put in orbit around a barycenter. asteroid spawning around Plock will work fine

I was a bit confused with the loadondemand but was the useondemand line ;-)

However many Thanks for you fast response and again thank you for all the hard work and Support!!!
