KSP: 1.0.4 Linux x64

Issue: KSP ctd during loading

I can't figure this out for the life of me. I just now updated to 1.0.4 will all up-to date mods but I'm suffering a CTD during loading when MM is installed, I tested it without MM and it loads fine though.

I'm running 64-bit on linux with 8gb of ram and KSP stays well below the limit so it's not a memory-related crash.

I thought at first that it was a ModualManager related problem because the game loads when MM is not installed but someone on that thead said that's not the case.

Log provided.

Does this happen with every launch? Or, just occasionally? Personally speaking, it looks like a random CTD; these happen.

If it is MM related, make sure you are running v2.6.6. I'm running Linux x64, 32GB; run a heavily modded install and it loads fine. I approach the KSP hard 16GB upper limit.

Also, check ~/.config/unity3d/Squad/Kerbal Space Program/Player.log to see what that tells you.

Next, try unzipping and overwrite all the original KSP except the GameData folder. I've had installs that ended-up borked and that helped.

I've 87 add-ons and it takes about 4m to load. Get yourself a SSD. 25m load time is horrendous. It may actually be your processor.

My Setup:

Kerbal Space Program - 1.0.4.0 (LinuxPlayer)

OS: Linux 3.19 Ubuntu 15.04 64bit

CPU: Intel® Core i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40GHz (8)

RAM: 32143

GPU: GeForce GTX 560 Ti/PCIe/SSE2 (1024MB)

SM: 30 (OpenGL 4.5 [4.5.0 NVIDIA 346.59])

RT Formats: ARGB32, Depth, ARGBHalf, RGB565, ARGB4444, ARGB1555, Default, DefaultHDR, ARGBFloat, RGFloat, RGHalf, RFloat, RHalf, R8

That removing MM resolves this only indicates that one of the mods using MM is the cause, not MM itself. I don't see an immediate answer in that log, so your best bet might be to remove mods one or two at a time until it loads. Tiresome I know, but that's just what we have to do sometimes with heavily modded installs.

Better yet, if this is a fresh install: Always add mods a couple at a time, that way you can spot issues before they get buried.
