just an inquiry Re: Steam and mods

Bear with me for asking this, I haven't played for months now and I just want to clarify things before installing my mods again. Do auto-updates of KSP on Steam still overwrite or erase mod files in the GameData folder? If so, then is it still recommended that I make a copy of the KSP folder that's found in the Steam directory to prevent that from happening?

Pretty sure that the update won't touch the mods. Still a good idea to make a backup just in case though.

Only if it the mod changes one of Squad's files.

That said auto-updates can break mods, so you want to have your copy of KSP outside Steam's folder anyway if you don't want to be locked out of your save for a few days after every update.
