The one good thing science-wise in 1.x is that now a 0-level rookie scientist can reset the Goo and Material experiments by himself, in the field. Used to be, only the Mobile Processing Lab could do that. Shamelessly exploiting this is the key to getting through the grind. Do what you need to do in the very early going to unlock the following stuff: * Goo, Materials, and whatever other science instruments are within easy reach.
