Kerbal History Reborn

605: Project "Minerva" starts, a program to determine the possibility of producing usable energy from various nuclear interactions. The first test rig shows the first signs of nuclear fission, however kerbals are more interested in the "pretty lights" produced by the nearby scintillator than the anomalous chemical changes produced by the bombardment of uranium with neutrons.

609: The ai leaves the urban land and makes a small cabin in the mountains, there he writes an autobiography on his intreating journey there.

613: 4 years later, the AI is a profound author, until his story "The Trip to the Mün" however due to suspicion of him breaking the law of no spacecraft until the set time, a team of highly experience Kerbals assassinate him.

615: Plans are drawn up the for the Great Kathedral of Khalesm, which is meant to stand for centuries as a testament to the advanced state of Kerbal culture.

616: Leonardo da Kerman paints the Kerba Lisa. That same year, the painting is stolen and a convoluted investigation takes place, headed by the brilliant but clumsy Inspektor Klouseau.

633: An insane dictator named Kadolf Kerman takes power in Kermany, desiring to hoard all of Kerbin's snacks.

639: Kermany invades the central Sean's Cannery snack factory in Koland, starting World War Kerbin 2.

644: Kermany invents the mighty K-2 rocket, a missile that travels to space on the way to its target. Kermany also invents the K-262 Jet Fighter, using two J-20 Basic Jet Engines. Jet engines are invented and widely used as a 'less explody' alternative to rockets.

645: After failing to take all of the Koviet Union's snacks, Kermany is defeated.

To all readers, I advise you to go back and read the whole history so you don't end up doing something that's already been done.

646: Fortunately for Kerbalkind in general, the Kold War "escalates" so high that it drifts off into space, out of Kerbin's SOI, and eventually out of the Kerbolar system altogether. Peace is restored on Kerbin, and those directly involved in the war, such as Kadolf Kerman, are doomed to fight one another forever in the depths of interstellar space (but somehow using biplanes and K-boats rather than spaceships). Needless to say this gives rise to many a legend among extrakerrestrial civilizations yet to be discovered.

647: In an effort to bring the explodiness of rockets down to around that of the new jet engines, the StrutCo company is founded and begins marketing a device which, when attached to two spacecraft components, allows them to structurally brace against one another and thereby create a more durable whole. These "struts" become wildly popular among Kerbals, and before long all Kerbal architecture features them prominently (in a similar fashion to columns in ancient Rome on Earth, not that the Kerbals would know anything about that).

647: Bruce Kerman is mugged in an alleyway, and in an effort to reduce crime rates in his hometown, proceeds to reinvent himself as Bat Kerbal. Edited by parameciumkid

648: The Great Strut crisis begins, caused by a massive strut shortage. Without struts, rockets are exploding left and right, causing anarchy among Kerbin's many space programs.
648.5: The Koviet Union restarts K-2 rocket production, while the Kerbal States use old K-2 rockets as sounding rockets. Edited by Sanic

654: An angry squad of space monkeys from the planet come and burn every building on Kerbin, because they thought Kebrin looked cluttered. Luckily, kerbal scholars managed to archive most Kerbal knowledge, saving Kerbin from reverting into the dark ages.

658: The R&D facility comes to the conclusion that Kerbalkind isn't quite ready for nuclear power in the conventional sense. Instead they find small-scale, non-explosive ways to exploit nuclear energy. While this leads to dismay among Kerbin's large demographic of pyromaniacs, it also leads to the development of prototypes of two important technologies: nuclear thermal rocket motors and radiothermal generators.

659: After extended deliberations, representatives from various rocket building companies finally reach a consensus on what to do moving forward. First, an agreement is made not to pursue any rash actions such as mass resignation, nuclear apocalypse, or interstellar wars with any rumored "monkey" creatures. Second, rocket builders will have the option to resume business after a short delay under a new unified bureaucratic structure, wherein they can publish designs and distribute craft blueprints in a sort of "Spacecraft Exchange." Third, since the mysterious event has been covered sufficiently, no further records are to be made of it in the official Kerbal historical records.

659: Later the same year, Rockomax corporation, concerned about their future in the space industry, demolishes the Great Kathedral of Khalesm and builds a large supermarket known as Rockomart.
