the great Kerbin kaput happens. Kerbin goes dark. the world changes, and all the stuff looks different

a crown of pure good, forged from GREEN IRON, saves kerbals, but is destroyed by his evil red brother over a dispute over the proper colour of a mysterious power source known as "rep". all nuggets of this go grey for no reason.

(Later): K 668 S is launched to dock into the KSS to bring more scientists on board. However it turns out no one remembered to attach a docking port to the K 668 S, causing 6 Kerbals to be stranded inside.

K 669 R is launched to rescue K 668 S. However they ALSO forgot to attach docking ports meaning that the entire rescue team of 4 are also stranded in space.

The engineer in charge of docking ports is fired.

The KSC decides to develop a grabbing arm of some sort to bring back the stranded Kerbals without the hassle of forgetting to attach docking ports.

A whole year of development proves fruitless, until one of the KSC staff notices an intern trying to fetch something out of a long tube by turning it upside down and shaking it. Long story short, the "Klaw" motorized grabbing unit is invented. A new rescue mission is sent to the K 669 R, but unfortunately the new chief engineer forgot to add a Klaw and thus the second rescue team is ALSO stranded in space!
Fortunately, by the end of the week things have been more or less sorted out, and everyone makes it back to Kerbin.

Bat Kerbal is in the middle of a nighttime crime-fighting spree when he encounters Jokerb, a crack pilot who aspires to serve in the Kerbal space military alongside Commander Jeb. Unfortunately, Commander Jeb has not been born yet, and Kerbalkind has yet to develop a space military. Bat Kerbal reassures him that things will get better with time and that he shouldn't give up on his dreams, then flies off into the sunrise.

  • 1 month later...

Bat Kerbal is forced to retire after taking a severe beating from Kerbane. He spends several months on holiday, then passes the torch to an enthusiastic upstart crime fighter, Krobin.

Krobin embarks on a grueling journey through the desert, whereupon he encounters a citadel under the despotic rule of Immortan Jeb (not to be confused with regular Jeb). Some craziness goes down and long story short there's a really long car chase in preposterously overengineered vehicles.

Taking a break from his arduous pursuit of Krobin, Immortan Jeb returns home and commissions a giant statue of himself. Unfortunately, he ends up with a statue of himself wearing a ridiculous hat, which is so embarrassing he flees to the North pole and becomes a hermit. Incidentally, in his later years he actually starts wearing a ridiculous hat.
