Crashing at titlescreen

Recommended Posts

Since CKAN had just downloaded, I decided to put it to a test by downloading some mods from it. But when starting up, after the loading screen with the loading hints I crashed.

Mods are:

TweakScale

Blizzy's toolbar

Texture replacer

TAC Life Support

TAC Fuel Balancer

KSP Interstellar extended

KSP AVC

Kopernicus

Interstellar Fuel Switch

Interstellar Fuel Switch Core

Filter Extensions - Plugin

Docking port alignment indicator

DeepFreeze continued

Community Resource Pack

and Kerbal Galaxy

17 mods :3

Crash report is HERE!

Could not allocate memory: System out of memory!...
d3d: failed to create 2D texture id=2029 w=8192 h=4096 mips=14 d3dfmt=21 [out of memory]
Crash!!!

Pretty self-explanatory. 32bit KSP can only use ~3.5GB of memory (32bit address space limit) You have too many memory hungry mods (probably textures).

Use ActiveTextureManagement, force OpenGL, loose some mods, or switch to GNU/Linux where there is stable 64bit KSP.

I'd start with KerbalGalaxy, as it probably has the biggest textures.

yeah, you could downsize the mods....or just run the game in openGL, which will save you 1-2gb

found a video for ya :D (now i don't have to tell you how to do it!)

Thanks a lot! Repping :P

And do I need to install Linux or do I just need to download the Linux edition?

OMG! Game went from 3.5 GB of RAM to .6 GB!

Linux version only runs on Linux :P

There is a way to run 64bit on Windows, but it's an unofficial "community hack". You will most likely run into bugs and mod incompatibilities, so YMMV.
