I've changed:

  • ejectionforce of the nose cone to only 30, is more than enough and 250 caused the cover to become stuck with the port
  • Lowered down the engines using the offset control, they seem to be lower in many images of the CST-100.

Could it be possible by using normals to imitate the texture on the pod (thermal insulation and heat tiles may be) as seen on this picture:

That way it will look more natural and less bright white I guess.

Drakenex Aww the images look great! Thanks for the advice, theres a node for the engines to sit on, I think u placed it on the one on top. I've tried adding thermal tiles, it just look too detailed...

No problem! thanks for carrying on with development.

There are two bottom nodes on the service module:

node_stack_bottom = 0.0, -1.15, 0.0, 0.0, -1.0, 0.0, 2
node_stack_bottom_2 = 0.0, -0.6, 0.0, 0.0, -1.0, 0.0, 1

If I use thew lowest one the engines are too far down, and using the free bottom node for the adapter clips it:

And about the normals/Texture I don't think they are thermal ceramic tiles like in the Orion, there are tiles only the border ring and near the door, they look more like the Shuttle thermal blankets:

Something like this, I'll try to simulate the texture, for example you can add more detail by adding text to the tiles, may be a yellow rescue arrow with a cutting guide, more detail to the umbilical port etc. (is just an opinion! sorry for making modifications):

Drakenex- I did not realize that the engines were i bit high so I have lowered them, but they are meant to go on the higher node. Also I have fixed the nosecone getting stuck and the next release will have these fixes.

Drakenex This mod is still WIP, nothing is final. I'll try adding a bit more detail to the capsule

Yeah yeah sorry! I'm working for Nasa/Boeing as a SatCom specialist for COTS, so the CST is my main project. Awesome work so far!

Yeah sorry we don't have built in parachutes yet, we are waiting for 1.1 to come out because I am assuming that animations will be updated to Unity 5 animations. Currently animations can only be done with Unity 4.2.2

ok... my CST-100 launch tower is almost done..... just need to figure out these node problems

Why 3.75 m it should be 2.5 m

3.75m is a perfect size for a capsule, as the stock game currently does not have any 3.75 capsules. The point of modding is to make something that the stock game currently does not offer, and I think this capsule hits the nail straight on the head in regards to that :)

The CST would fit better if it was 3.125m, but 3.125m is an odd part size that few people use.

0.9375m is now a size that's used.

Your yourself use 0.3125m parts.

And what about 1.875m?

Really what does the size even matter @_Augustus_ rescale it to what ever you want to use if you want a bunch of odd sizes go far it have away at your own cfg's and if you need help with them goto the MM thread there are some examples there to help you.

Yup, can't complain of things you CAN change, I've learned to edit confings and textures for that matter, and may be one day also modeling :wink:

Edit: I'm the only one who can't use the supplied docking port? it works as a command part but when you try to target it from another ship it says "target not a docking port", the config seems to be fine
