Anyone crossing fingers for a RAPIER redesign?

No, I don't see that happening. They're fairly new and there are many other parts and other things to do before anything like that is even worth considering. Plus I rather like their design.

The Mk1 cockpit underwent a redesign very recently and they've completely overhauled it, so I don't think that's really a factor here

I'd like a 2.5m RAPIER. The 1.25m is good for what it does but what it does isn't macho enough for Mk3 spaceplanes.

Not sure what you are talking about I have a sand box plane that can make it just about anywhere with 6 rapiers and a smaller variant that is currently refueling its self on Duna on my career game with only 4 rapiers.

But you could have only one instead of that. I use TweakScale so I don't have those problems.

Step 1: Attach a pre-cooler to your plane

Step 2: Attach a shock-cone intake to the precooler (shock-cones have much less drag than rams)

Step 3: Attach an LVN to the pre-cooler's attach node

Step 4: Attach a cubic octagonal strut anywhere to the pre-cooler

Step 5: Attach a Turbojet to the cubic octagonal strut

Step 6: Slide and rotate into place, behind the LVN

Step 7: Repeat steps 4 to 6 for the RAPIER, Aerospike, and ION engine

Step 8: Enjoy your newly designed RAPIER, which is now a multi-mode all-in-one engine :)
