(WIP) The Martian Rockets

Recommended Posts

This mod is quite old and I have abandoned it. If someone would like to take it over please send me a PM, and get to work! I would love to see this mod continue, but I don't have the time nor skill to make this continue.

I read the Martian recently, and was very interested by the Chinese Taiyang Shen rocket in it. Recently learning blender, I decided to start development on it. I'm using the Long March 9 as a referance:

I've actually e-mailed Andy Weir (One of my grandparents' friend's kids is friends with him) and he said that the Taiyang Shen's carrier rocket was probably the Long March 9 because the Delta IX was clearly more powerful than a Titan IV (otherwise it would just launch another Cassini..) and both were able to carry the same payload. This also leaves the possibility that the Delta IX is either the new name of the SLS or it's ULA's solution to the SpaceX 9-Raptor rocket.

Long March 5 is also apparently ultimately designed to carry the Shenzhou to lunar flybys or EML-2.

Great! I read the book too, it was really great!

I'll see how you will manage stuff here, maybe I can help a bit, though I feel like I'm involved in too many projects already, but who cares, I've got enough time.

I'm thinking of adding a part with snacks support to play the role Taiyang Shen did in the book, any suggestions?

Its this (I've got to double check if it's simplified or traditional)
