Tech tree disappeared after upgrading R&D facility..

Recommended Posts

So was wondering if anyone had this issue before.. when upgrading the R&D facility then opening it up.. all the technology.. the whole tree has disappeared. I do have a handful of mods, but it has otherwise been working fine for the last 20 or so hours.. nothing has been added or changed since this happened. Restarting the game didn't bring it back. Help?

Module manager can do this, if you use module manager try backing up the save then editing the persistent.sfs, make sure TechTreeUrl points to GameData/Squad/Resources/TechTree.cfg instead of the module manager file.

I have this issue as well.  If you could, can you please explain this process?  I am very hesitant about editing files.

Nevermind, I figured it out.  I had to delete the manager entirely.  It wanted to keep replacing the line.

Hi @meltedplasticarmyguy.

First make a copy of your persistent.sfs file, then open it in notepad.

You will need to find this section.

Quote

        CAREER
        {
            TechTreeUrl = GameData/Squad/Resources/TechTree.cfg
            StartingFunds = 25000
            StartingScience = 0
            StartingReputation = 0
            FundsGainMultiplier = 1
            RepGainMultiplier = 1
            ScienceGainMultiplier = 1
            FundsLossMultiplier = 1
            RepLossMultiplier = 1
            RepLossDeclined = 1
        }

It's near the top, and yours will show the module manager tech tree file on the TechTreeUrl line.

Change it to show the line above, save the file and then try loading your game in KSP.

It should then be working.

Hope this helps!

I found the issue.  The version of module manager I was using kept changing the line.  I had to delete it and download another version.  It's fixed now, thank you.
