Space Shuttle [SSP] for KSP

I finally had time to test out the OMS engines(no payload). With mechjeb; just to change the inclination 10 degrees, It would of taken 1m38s and the burn started about 1 minute before the node. The max thrust of 50 isn't enough.

I think those figures are pretty much in line with real-world performance. Standard OMS burns could last several minutes, which makes sense considering that the combined thrust of both OMS engines was only 53kN, with a maximum acceleration of less than 1m/s².

Lionhead Aerospace mod - zeus telescope. I did a update of it

its not my mod and was for ksp 0.25. credit to original developers.

Does that one still work in 1.0? I forgot

New test results from the RO/RSS department: Launch is great, though SAS likes to make the Shuttle wobble so I won't call that a bug. On orbit operation are good, though I suspect that fuel cell isn't working. Reentry however is impossible, the shuttle's heat tolerance is far to low to even get below 100000m, this could be due the fact that it has a heat tolerance of 1073 degrees and the shuttle has no ablator. Either the heat tolerance of the shuttle must go up or an ablating system need to be implemented.

Excellent. I can work from this tonight

Thank you so much!! At last I have this famous telescope:)))

Another question.. I am using RSS and realism overhaul. After start, on altitude 3-4 km the shuttle nose begin moving left and right, up and down. Not stable trajectory- and I will receive bad orbit. Also fuel ends early:((( I install path for RO, as you said. But it is not help.

And, I don't understand, why not working RCS thursters:(( I am using button R on keyboard, but it is not helping:((

Thank you for answers!!

Will update as soon ad I can

Okey, thank you. I will wait:))

PS. Mod Hullcam have telescope Hublle? I was think this mod it is only camera...

And also, if using mod Canadaarm, you can't attach the arm on lateral wall of cargo bay:((( only in center cargobay:(

I'll test it more but then the orbit might get messed up ( one side enters kerning atmosphere) and not enough rcs fuel.

mike pkease dont forget the Tail and Candarm .. it need adjusting with the RSS.

did those already and some other things for RSS

also I put all the WIKI real stats in for everything. ISP, fuel ammounts, thrust, weight etc.

its back to being heavy.

my issue now is with the huge weight the launch clamps stick to it when you launch (the ones taking more weight)

so it leans over and blows up on launch.

it works ok with the crawler pads new decoupler node. directly under COM, no launch clamps.

problem is not everyone would want the crawler.

maybe I can research this issue

I do not know how to get back to orbit to the ground :). Fuel was over, main engines connot be run againe. Do, I have only the engines OSM. But, Shuttle just does not fly in the atmosphere. He can not be controlled .

(Rotation, turn, e.t.c)

And most importantly : RCS engines are not running . The space shuttle have only control SAS and OSM engines. RCS is not working.

I use RSS and Reaolism Overhaul. Are the problem in this?

Okay, but why do not work RCS engines????????

PS. And I dont see a chute for Atlantis... How I must will brake? :))

The shuttle,is only partially ready for,rss action. More fixes are on the way to make it fully compatible.

oms power now more than double thrust.

about twice as much OMS fuel on board

RCS now runs from same fuel as OMS engines. (monopropellant was not showing in game)

rcs power increased

Mike, irl, the minimum crew shuttle flew with was 2, the four columbia test flights. Maybe use that for guidance?

O!!! Thank you so much for the path.. I will try now and report you :)

Later...

RCS is working... :) Thank you.

BUT... The shuttle can not get off the ground. No takeoff. not enough power for engines... :(((( Max alt it is 12 km :((( After hi is going down...

Here is my video.

I did not touch the keyboard
