Yes have scaled it again. Is there a way to fix it?

I dont know of any solution. If you are rescaling for Realism Overhaul purposes I have been in touch with some contributors there and they ran into the same problem, I was thinking of providing a native real size truss for RO later by scaling in unity but I will do that a bit later.

Does anyone have any idea of what may be causing these stick-like artifacts?

They are present throughout all phases of flight. They are semi-transparent and have a brownish tint. Game Data folder below.

This is a 1.11.2 install. Note that I had the same issues on a Stock 1.11.2 install. Only present on the Mercury.

Not that it helps, but I can at least confirm there definitely isn't a mesh like that in any of the Mercury parts.

Is there anyway to build the Gemini lunar lander and have it fit inside 1.875 fairings? Historically it was supposed to fit the same diameter as the base of the service module. I'm trying to launch it atop an SLV-3B and the landing gear hangs outside.

isn't the lander supposed to be launched on a saturn 1?

According to images I've seen, it's either behind the capsule in a fairing with a Centaur on the nose to push. Or on top of an Agena and then docked to the nose of the capsule with a Centaur behind the capsule.

Allow me to give closure - I could never get the model to fit inside a 1.875m fairing :P I think it's too different from the "real" thing - in as much as there was one. The Gemini lander doesn't really match the Langley lander, and given the fact that the lander can is already as small as it could be... yeah. It's already pretty, uh, optimistic when you think about how there's no space allocated to life support, electrics, etc in that build...

My headcanon is that it flies in a Titan 3E fairing. You could probably get away with the Atlas MPF that was added somewhat recently, the slightly expanded 1.875m fairing.

Giant SIGINT satellite with an infrared telescope for missile monitoring stuff

ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!

Hughes HS-748 bus yes?

Makes sense to me.   And that is sort of my Headcanon as well when I play with the parts.   Clipping the legs actually interfered with docking with the CM when I tried to make it fit many moons ago.   So I have always either launched it with a Vega or Transtage into Munnar orbit.   OR when I have Saturn Technology, I launch 2 to 4 of them on a Saturn V with a VFB module.   The VFB has the same docking port as Agena meaning my Gemini capsule can dock there...   It takes some janky steps to make that work but it is an interesting concept and use of the VFB module on a S-IVB to make a Moon station for shuttling landers up and down.

Could either of you test without Waterfall?

Yeah, that’s what I’m guessing caused the problem as well; I’ll test when I get home today.

We still don’t know what Jumpseat spacecraft actually looked like other than a few vague descriptions, right?

Also, is that just a regular Sentinel telescope from stock KSP or another modded part?

I believe Jumpseat is known to be a Hughes Aircraft "Spinning" series of satellites, hence my question about the HS-748 bus.   And I realized after that post that the HS-748 is a turboprop airliner from Hawker Siddeley (BAe)    I was looking for the Hughes Spacecraft 300 series (so HS-333 or so)

LM's RCS is quite powerful and chugs a lot of its fuel.

Yeah @CobaltWolfI might have mentioned it before, but it could be a good idea to either beef up the Ascent stage monoprop tanks, or add tanks to the descent stage. When I played with the old LM, Clipping around the same amount of RCS fuel into the descent stage would just about last me using RCS heavily during the descent, and the amount inside the Ascent Stage would just about last ascent and docking. I know it’s a minor thing, but I’m sure others have noticed how it could have a bit more monoprop in it.

You could turn off RCS when under powered descent. The LMDE is vectored.

I got it to fit in the SLV-Agena fairing by using 70% scale legs. That also had the side benefit of reducing mass and solving a couple delta V issues. Looking at the model, I think if you inverted the landing leg truss(putting the single tube on the bottom and the double on top) and then played a few games with where the truss breaks over and how the strut interacts, it might work.

can't you just reduce the RCS thrust by a bit

I usually already have it at 50 or less. So it's usually not a problem. By the time I've landed I usually have around 16 Units left. IRL you did have quite a good bit of Margin with the LM RCS as it was used for rendevous plane changing. Also the LM is never still and monoprop just gets steadily chugged overtime even with Kill ROT on.
