2015 SLS repaint for stock

Recommended Posts

NASA just showed the awesome new SLS paint job! (flickr)

(also see video below)

Couldn't wait and had to try it out in KSP =)

Javascript is disabled. View full album

It is a repaint of stock parts. Once you install them, the originals will be overwritten.. BUT, the pack contains a backup in case you want to revert to the originals, so no worries :)

Textures of these parts are changed:

  • Big Kickback SRB, added the cool stripes :)
  • 3.75 Cluster engine, deblackened it, added some umbilical ports
  • 3.75 big tank, scraped off some paint from the tanks..
  • 3.75 medium tank
  • 3 to 2 adapter

Notes:

  • It does not contain any craft files
  • Couldn't play with specular on the tank parts, it seems tank parts' shaders are diffuse, even if the textures originally do contain an alpha channel.

I am not sure of what exactly licence it should be for modifying Squad's original work, so, I'll licence it under by-nc-sa 4.0

Boy, you were quick. Nice job. Could you host on Kerbal Stuff when you get a chance? Curse creeps me out. :P

Ah sure, TBH I couldn't find how to upload a new mod on Curse xD I remember when I did last time I needed like half an hour to dig up the right button.. (at least a year ago) But everything changed now, it's even worse! I don't get it...

So, yeah, I won't even try next time..

It's on kerbalstuff =)

Could you provide a alternative texture with the use of Firespitter capability to change between them?

Could you make these textures compatible with textureReplacer rather than overwriting it? :) When i first heard that they were going to leave the tank unpainted and i saw on reddit that people wanted Squad to redo the SLS parts, I was not sure an orange SLS would even look good in game. Now that I see the Orange SLS in-game (outside of the RO Spice Launch System), I see that an orange tank would be pretty great. HOWEVER: Only for a really big tank. Keep the others Saturn-V colored or else we won't be able to make Saturn rockets.

If it wouldn't be a trouble, think you could get this to work with Vens Stock Revamp?

Awesome, and quick work!

Completely different model and texture set. It'd be easier for Ven to publish a set than Nothke build another set for another mod.

I won't, but the textures are licenced under by-nc-sa 4.0, you can rerelease them if you wish..

Can this be updated to 1.0.5 since the Large and Medium Size 3 tanks now share a common .dds file? I tried merging them myself with GIMP, but when I booted up the game the textures were solid white.

If you don't mind having both, I write the cfg to a set path https://www.dropbox.com/s/lbon9s8i8vrnwrm/nothke-2015_SLS_CDR_textures.zip?dl=0

Just unzip

The install path should be KSP/GameData/nothke-2015_SLS_CDR_textures

Never mind this! I had ModuleManager installed.

Onto my problem:
I place the folder in the download you linked directly above this ^, and when I install and load, I have two of each of the parts. When I launch, it goes to normal, even if I use stock and the mod's one, both are normal on launch and at the VAB Edited by legoclone09
MAJOR edits!
