See you, Damion Rayne.

;)

For real, though, good luck in whatever, Miguel.
Thanks for everything. :D
Been bothering me alot as well.. Been like this since the beginning.
So I really hope this was his own choice and not him being fired like every other community manager we have had in the past.

It was really fun seeing him host squadcast especially back when Yargnit was co host as they had really great chemistry.
Yeah, I miss the 0.1X days when Nova turned out content like a machine. I swear, C7 and HarvestR did game structure while he did game content, and it worked marvelously. Nova built the whole damn solar system between 0.15's release and 0.17's release. Crazy developer; miss that guy. C7 as well. Chad made all the spaceplanes. I feel like there aren't enough front-end developers to push content out like they used to. Its a shame.

What's this about the other community mangers being fired? We really have no way of knowing whether or not Rayne and Skunky were fired or quit. What did they even do wrong to BE fired in the first place? I don't believe anything was said officially...

...I heard something about NDA's, however...

Now I'm thinking about the other developers; do you think they left by choice or were they removed?

I think it's not really appropriate to discuss this behind their backs nor does it really serve any particular goal other than to satisfy curiosity, so I suggest we let that topic rest. :) Edited by KasperVld

Uhhh.....Just because i spend all my time browsing the forum games, science labs or developement threads, what DID Maxmaps do? I've been playing since 0.19 i think, so can anybody give me a quick recap?
what DID Maxmaps do?
Producers (in general) are relationship managers, not inter-personal like friends or spouses but professional relationships, such as between artists and programmers, the creative side and the business side and between entities (i.e. business to business) with a 'big picture' mindset.

Beyond the dealing, and product management a producers job is also to manage the unproductive burdens of productive staff. Imagine if a programmer or artist had to drop out of production to negotiate a business licencing deal, this would eat into their time and could be outside of their area of professional expertise. So you have specialists/organisers who make the business as a whole more productive by handling the professional communications.

While Squad (probably) isn't going to go into specifics of Max's responsibilities, he was probably responsible for (or heavily involved in) negotiating license deals (such as the NASA deal for the ARM pack (being able to use likenesses / logo etc) and similar such as use of the ESA iconography), the deal with FT for console development, as well as setting/maintaining development scheduling (if you can remember Max's "black book", which contained a KSP roadmap).

Ok, i took a break from ksp after 2k played hours just to read this. Literally, you made my days. As a intense casual gamer (if i can say so myself), thank you for all the work you put into KSP. To say it with Scotts conclusive phrase:

Fly safe. :)

Thanks Kasper. You all be nice to Dr_Turkey, okay?

One could not ask for a better job experience and a better community than Kerbal Space Program has. So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Oh my god, how did I even miss this?!

Farewell maxmaps
Hope you are already settled in wherever you are.
Right on, Dude.

Hello everyone,

Today it's my unfortunate task to inform everyone here that Miguel a.k.a. Maxmaps will be leaving Squad this Friday after more than two years of working on the game, bringing a wealth of knowledge and passion to the game's development. We'd like to thank Max for the dedication with which he tackled his ever growing workload. It's safe to say that without Max's input we'd be in a very different place right now, as he played a positive and instrumental role in the development process.

We will miss having him around and wish him the best of luck in the future.

On behalf of everyone at Squad,

Kasper

It feels like everyone who pioneered this game in its early days is leaving, this community has changed a lot since I last frequented this place often

It saddens me to hear that Maxmaps is leaving Squad. After everything he's been through with Squad and KSP, I think this is better for both us and squad, and for him as probably he'll have more time for other things in the future and, on the bright side, to do SCIENCE! AND SOME MORE SCIENCE!
