Modding Monday: Stock jet Turbines Resurrected!

If you really like the look then Bloody_looser’s <a href="http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/138896-1-0-5-Stock-jet-Turbines-resurrected">Stock Jet Turbines Resurrected</a> mod applies a few simple configuration tweaks to unlock them. #KSP.</p>

This should have gotten included.

Make the engine itself and the nozzle separate parts, and make it so that the nozzle's thrust decreases the further it is from the engine.

i like these in general, but would it be too difficult to make them toggleable (in the same way say the new engine fairings can be disabled in 1.0.5).

It shouldnt be too much work to allow us to use them (default to on ofc), and itll let those of us that have some sci-fi designs or other craft of the sort which would be completely ruined by the new engine turbines (and also for VTOL makes, myself i dont really make jet VTOLS, but there is enough people who do that the turbines, if forced upon them, would kill designs in terms of appearance).

The craft below has an intake attached directly to a rapier, yes, this is not realistic, but then again, its intended as a sci-fi styled vessel, and hence realism falls out the door anyway. Please do everyone a favor and make them an toggleable option in the hangar/vab when you finally decide to add them to the stock game. Im all for more options, but ive already suffered alot of craft breaking over the last few updates, please dont kill my beloved Tri-Fighter IV!

This is probably the precise reason why Squad decided that the feature needed "a bit more work", to quote the OP ;)

Very true. And I agree.

Also how did you get the shot of Jeb in the cockpit? Is it a camera mod?

Stock cockpit does that btw.

there is a very particular spot you doubleclick on, bottom corner when you look directly in front.

Its kinda hard to activate that view, but it is in the stock pits.
