I am working on a 1.3 release of the RO-config but I need another few days to test it and possible fix bugs. I think the first release will be ready during this weekend.

I noticed none of the separation motors or tower appear to work.  Do I just need to past PBAN in as the resource for these in the config?  Not really confident messing around with config files yet.

Ok I checked it and the thrust was 10 % to weak and the burn time was 5 times to short. in real life they have 20000 pounds for 1 sec. They still use "SolidFuel" for the moment, maybe I change it in future. I will upload the fix to the GIt repository this weekend.

@Sobol The first release of the improved Realism Overhaul config for SLS Part pack is ready to download.

Download the latest (1.3.03 at the time of writing) release from https://github.com/Max-Q/Space-Launch-System-Realism-Config/releases.

To install it, copy the RealsimOverhaul folder from the downloaded zip-file into the GameData folder of your KSP installation.

Do not use saved vehicles, build them from scratch with fresh parts. Otherwise the parts might keep the characteristics of an older config.

The release was tested with SLS Part pack version 1.3.01 in KSP v1.2.2 with Realism Overhaul v11.4.1. (RO is, or was till recently, not ready for KSP 1.3.)

Known Bugs

Things @Sobol maybe can fix:

Things @Max-Q should fix:

  • A ton of small inconsistencies and inaccuracies
  • Set all title, description and manufacturer
  • Clean up engine configs (adapt real plume config)
  • Sure more to come

the orion csm I can figure out easy enough..its the launcher proper on up to where it actually mates TO the orion thats throwing me.

aka I need a guide for building the launcher.

Ah ok. Well the first stage for both the block 1 and 2 is build like this: On the top you have the main tank end skirt, followed by the main tank oxygen tank, followed by the main tank intertank, followed by the hydrogen tank, followed by the RS-25 adapter with 4 RS-25's. The 5 segment boosters have their own nosecones and are attached to the bottom of the core with the solid rocket booster decouplers. The block 1 second stage (ICPS) is build like this: first you take the ICPS hydrogen tank, followed by the ICPS intertank with the ICPS hydrazine tanks, followed by the ICPS oxygen tank, followed by the ICPS engine adapter with 1 RL-10 B. This is attached to the main core with the ICPS adapter. The block 2 second stage (EUS) is build in a very similar fashion. First you take the EUS hydrogen tank, followed by the EUS intertank, followed by the EUS oxygen tank, followed by the EUS engine mount with 4 RL-10 C's. This stage is connected to the main core with the maincore EUS inter.

The download zip contains some craft files you can copy into Ships/Vab for example. Unfortunately they were broken (parts shifted) in the last version (at least for me).

The suggestion to build the ships from scratch applies only when you have the realism overhaul patch installed.

As stated on the first post Texture Replacer & Hangar Extender & Firespitter Plugin are recommended.

could have sworn there was a version of this that fit the VAB...

This mod doesn't rescale the SLS, so it's exactly the same size as the real thing. And since kerbal's VAB is so small it won't fit.

I'm highly interested in this pack, but I'm not sure as to what is being said through out the pages.  Does this contain a stock size and  RO size, or is it strictly for RO only? I know the post above says it doesn't re-scale the SLS, but further back the op says hes working on a new RO version.  Thx and appreciate the hard work guys, tis the only SLS orion pack left since Bobcat up and disappeared.

I tried to install it, but for some reason my game crashes while it's loading. I use the KSP 64 bit version, and I put the folders from this mod in the regular game data folder. I thought it wouldn't make a difference since most of my mods are in the regular game data folder. I do notice that the game crashes right when it starts loading the SLS mod stuff from the game data. Do you know what I'm doing wrong? Where was I supposed to install it?

The folder path should be KSP/GameData/SpaceLaunchSystem

The TR MODULE are wrong if your using TRR but that's all I seen
