Problems with Steam

I wasn't sure where to post this, but my steam won't open. Every time I click on it it has the blue spinning circle for a few seconds then it goes away and nothing happens. I have tried running as administrator and running directly from the application file, but I still get the same problem. Task manager isn't showing anything. I have looked all over the steam forums but nothing I have found works. Any ideas on how I can fix this?

Strange. Clean reinstall?

Also, just to dummy it up here but have you tried just waiting? Lol sometimes the simplest explanations are the best. May just be that its taking a while to boot up.

I can't imagine why Steam would be doing that unless the installation became corrupted at some point or another.

Go to the lower right hand corner, mouse over the arrow, show the hidden icons, and then click on Steam.

If that doesn't help, I don't know what else.
