That's a long-term goal.

Thanks for the quick reply Kasper! If you need any assistance with the cert feel free to shoot me a message. I would like to see the login page secured so I don't have to use an old password that I don't mind flying around in plaintext.

Thanks! We have a managed hosting solution though, so all should be good :)

I don't know the technical details and how much management they do, but right now I'd say the hosting isn't of an acceptable standard. I'm getting delays, timeouts, and 502 errors regularly.

[No Fix] It seems that due to a hiccough with the UTF-8 threads in the International forum and elsewhere that used non-latin characters look scrambled. Users need to fix this themselves

KasperVld, is there really no way to do a mass find&replace to fix this? The international section is pretty borked up because of this. The wrong conversion seems to be at least consistent, so it should be possible to do a mass substitution.

Btw, I am not being allowed to correct my own posts of even a few days ago because supposedly 'too much time has passed'. Not sure how I can fix something myself if I'm not allowed to edit.

There is no restriction applied to the age of posts you can edit, as far as I'm aware. Can anyone confirm this?

A few grievances:

  • Lots of wasted screen space.
  • Forced WYSIWYG editor.
  • Default notification settings are too permissive.
  • Even with all notifications disabled, I'm getting spammed with notification requests every time a page loads. Screenshot

The notification type from the screenshot is an HTML5 feature, and is controlled by the browser. If it doesn't work correctly, that's where the problem is I'm afraid.

Not happy with the amount of wasted whitespace on the left/right margins.  That needs to be reduced to under 25px or less instead of wasting 20% of the browser display width.

Overall, the theme needs to be tightened up, with not so much wasted whitespace.

(Not everyone runs their browser in full-screen mode...)

I actually agree with this.

The forced WYSIWYG editor is a bad idea. It feels like we're back in the 90s again. I write a lot of text every day using various tools, but I never use WYSIWYG editors for anything. Using some kind of markup is easier, faster, and more precise, and it also produces better quality results.

Apart from that, I'll wait for a few days before forming an opinion on the new forums.
