The meaning of Fupp

Drawing off of Douglas Adams' boringly phenomenal book The Meaning Of Liff, the decision was made to create a dictionary of things in KSP that there should be words for.

I really hope this becomes a project that everyone contributes to, so if you have a term you think belong in here, or you want to change something previously said, please, please say it!

On to the list:

Bombuxle n. A craft that keeps flipping over/blowing up/not going to space today no matter what you do, and you can't for the life of you figure out why

Farstickle n. The upper stage of a heinously overbuilt rocket, which you find you have to remove immediately before landing to ensure that your lander actually does its bloody job

Fupp n. That small part you forget, which you then remember when you're almost at your destination, which is really quite critical for the non-horribly-failing of the mission. Some of the more common examples of fupps are batteries, rcs blocks, decouplers, and parachutes.

Voomula n. A craft that you threw together in half an hour that for some reason performs better than the Bombuxle you spent 7 hours designing

Voomlewane v. The action of adding to a voomula in an attempt to make it more useful, but which ultimately makes it worse. Unsuprisingly, Voomlewaning is one of the best ways to create a bombuxle

I know it's only a few entries, but again, if you have something to add, it would be so awesome! :)

gadgetilt v. - the process of righting a tipped surface vessel into its intended position and attitude, by using moveable parts that were most definitely not intended for this purpose

swankareen v. - to accelerate along the entire length of the KSC runway in an impressively firespitting vehicle that is crazy loud, but will embarrassingly only take off after dropping off the end of the runway. If at all.

Deadlefut n. - A landing leg that has become inoperative whilst in its extended position.

Impasplode v. The act of impaciently physics warping to decrease the time of an action and accidentally causing a craft that normally works in the same situation to fail.

Laffkaker n. A kerbal who has survived a fall from an implausibly high height, but is killed from the much smaller bounce afterwards.

Ugstruhter n. An otherwise pretty craft made ugly by the addition of much needed struts.

Kerbit n. The emotion experienced at the precise moment that an individual decides, against all reason, to stop tweaking a frustrating bombuxle and just click launch.  This emotion is known to take several minutes to completely clear from the system, much like the process of coming down from fight-or-flight mode.  Also used in the exclamatory to express this emotion.  (Editor's note:  Moments of Kerbit are approximately 45% likely to correct the initial problem, and 45% likely to introduce entirely new and spectacular failures to the bombuxle.)

Kerbitwha n. The emotional response to witnessing implausible direct results from a moment of kerbit.  Most commonly experienced as combination of lingering kerbit after-effects with either horror or stunned surprise.

Timebrok n. The stage of a craft being timewarped too far and exploding into whatever body you were trying to land on. Related to Implasode. Ex: "My lander was going back down to Kerbin to be recovered, but I timewarped it into into the planet and it timebrok."

Permunant  adj. Describing a lander that, upon realizing it doesn't have the fuel to get home, you change its name to "_____ Base" and make it a permanent settlement. Ex: "I miscalculated DeltaV requirements for my lander, so the Minmus lander is now permunant."

Both of these happen to me way too often XD

Flatpack - A common useage term for lithobraking.

Bolloxed - The process of entering Eve's atmosphere without a heat shield.

Delight - Forgetting to attach lamps to a vehicle.

Inhabit - dressed as a nun (where'd that come from?).

Overrate - Nine

Macaroon  - Stranding Hamish Kerbal on Duna

Scruple - A cross between a screw top and a ring pull (again - uh?).

Abigail - A strong crosswind when launching an aircraft.

Amok - What Jeb says when the launch went well.

Kaleidoscope - A camera for filming an orbital rendezvous.

Satin - What happens to command seats.

Etc...

Klankenheffer n. A large, heavy ship whose TWR is barely adequate to leave the surface, but which still achieves orbit by virtue of having a huge supply of fuel and poor payload capacity.

Cuddomore n. A complicated ship that fulfils its purpose with less efficiency than an earlier design could do the same thing.

Flappenfar n. A winged vessel that can ascend from Kerbin and reach orbit around another body without refuelling.

Kokenbadger n. The manoeuvre performed immediately after realising that you've been controlling the vessel from the wrong place and were in fact facing the wrong way.

Redfassloon n. The kerbal whose ineptitude made the kokenbadger necessary.

Stampgaggle (n):  A flotilla of at least 6 ships that all do their transfer burns no more than 10 minutes apart.

Stamptizzy (n):  The mental state of Mission Control during and immediately after managing the departure of a stampgaggle.

Inmodderlant (adj):  Describing a space program that uses so many mods it causes the universe to collapse every few minutes.

Clanklock (v):  To block the operation of or access to another part of the ship, such as the crew hatch, the right-clickable area of something, the movement of a landing leg, or the complete separation of stages.  One part of the ship clanklocks another part.

Clanklocker (n):  The part that causes a clanklock, usually only discovered when it's too late to do anything about it.

Actastrophe (n):  A part you forgot to put in an action group, or an action group that fails to work in whole or in part, probably because it involves symmetrical parts that you moved after defining the action group.  Actastrophes often create severe crises in the mission.
