I wish KSP had an animated loading screen like this

I should try something like that with SVE. Back tomorrow.

you mean recording a video of it?

it would be easy with an addon to put a video on the loading screen actually, but you need to be careful with the RAM ;).

I was thinking of just making a gif(v), people can do what they want with it later.

this and that are already usable as gifv:

So, because of nastybugs with EVE, I can't make a speedy timewarp-y version of this. But I can leave it to record while I eat dinner or something.

Spoiler

We'll see how this goes. EDIT : Apparently lag. And bugs. And hard drive space. I'll try tomorrow :) EDIT 2 : I decided to learn Unix scripting. It's fun. And Stuff.

Yet another .... false.... Earth without New Zealand on it... and seriously, shouldn't Australia be covered in flames as its nearly always burning?

Must have gotten a lesson from Hollywood, Star Trek, FIRST CONTACT..... right?

I hope you are trolling, New Zealand is right where it's supposed to be, just look more closely. By comparing with the same view with google earth you can see it's right: https://www.google.com/maps/@1.3885263,141.4971927,22960325m/data=!3m1!1e3

The colors of this view of the earth are also quite accurate, but they feel strange because you are used to see the color-corrected pictures, this is the raw stuff.

Ah, that is just remake of the loading screen. Original is called Kerbal Space Odyssey and is from here. Artist is MK01 and it was uploaded in 2011.

And in my opinion with the best main screen music ever :)

They even used that music for a water fountain show in Dubai at the foot of the Burj Khalifa, I was really surprised when I recognized it! (A bit weird knowing that this song is the Swahili version of the Christian "Lord's Prayer")

Yeah, great music ( and to boot, Mr Tin ( the composer ) is a rather swell guy ) and the graphics themselves in the intro were rather good even unmodded ( the "Blue Marble" ;) mod made it even better ) ...

Now that you say it, good ol' "Baba Yetu" would make a great intro music for KSP ... Hum... *starts digging KSP music modding threads* ;)

New Zealand is there, just hard to see. If you put the high res one on full screen and watch where it ought to be, you will see a line of clouds that isn't moving with the rest of the clouds and that is New Zealand, or at least the clouds that get caught on its mountain ranges. Or maybe it is just snow. hard to tell but there is something there.

Also, more on topic, I wish they would do something like this for the title screen, rather than having to load a whole scene just so I can click "Start Game" & "Resume" or whatever it says. Title screen graphics should never have loading times IMO. They should be functional and quick and not hinder me from getting to my game. Drives me crazy when it takes the game like two minutes to start, then after all that loading, there is another loading screen just for the title screen. I would rather have a static piece of artwork any day.

And as for the loading screen, does it drive anyone else nuts that the outer planets of the loading animation are moving faster than the inner ones? This is KSP, the very worst place to make such a mistake.

And another thing! Why do they make the Kerbals float around on the title screen like they are hovering or something? We ALL know that things in space/microgravity don't just float around in little circles because we play KSP!!! If they put little puffs of RCS from the MMU I'd be okay with it, but they don't.

AND ANOTHER THING!!! WHY AM I RANTING ABOUT THIS TRIVIAL CRAP!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?! I guess I've been holding all that in for a while. Sorry.

That one bothers me more than it should, too. Though I don't think it's worth dev time to fix.
