What's The mystery goo?

My science team has made numerous attempts to figure out the Goo, but they have not cracked it yet. Linus (Werner's intern) is currently in the hospital (he was the test subject). The data gathered so far seems to support Yogur&Bob's hypothesis, but no definitive answer yet.

(According to MMU thread), we can presume, the Mystery Goo is Kerbal ectoplasm - or mana.

Also maybe it is used as Kerbal spacesuit "EVA propellant".

  • It has zero density and weights nothing.
  • It re-appears from nowhere when Kerbal just returns to the cabin, with no limits.

Looks quite expected that after being released from the jetpack, the ectoplasm/mana doesn't fly away, but returns to the ship.
So, when a Kerbal returns too, he/she just "inhales" it back.

Also this hypothesis gives an answer: how "badass" Kerbals Jeb/Bill/Bob/Val can endlessly resurrect.

In the KSC Crew Center Building, there is an ectoplasm basin full of Mystery Goo.
Any time when a Kerbal dies, his mana returns to the basin and this person resurrects again.
One can presume that a basin near this building is the one described above.

Probably, a Kerbal slime from the underwater place where they hatch from the Kraken's caviar.

A microbicidal, hormonally active Kerbal propolis.
When gets dry, becomes a natural Kerbal mumijo, the backbone of the Kerbal traditional medicine.

Also can be used as a sealant.

Nightmare fuel. Also, are those lumps on the Kerbal's body mutations from overusing the Mystery Goo of youth while not being an orange suit? :D

Probably he tried to microwave it.

I was told by a KSC VAB Tech that the goo was the stuff they found in the centrifuge capsule after early manned centrifuge tests went seriously wrong.

It was caused by the design specs failing to have an off switch on the spinning parts.    so once it got spinning around it took days for it to come to a stop.

The whole thing was covered up by Gene and Warner since they feared that news of several fatalities becoming common knowledge would hurt the recruitment of new astronauts.
