There are just four options:

  1. You choose not to use mods.
  2. You are forced to use mods. (console)
  3. You use CKAN.
  4. If you know actually know what you're doing you do not use CKAN.

Yes. It is that simple! Now quit whining about it.

I think you got 2. messed up, but other than that I agree.

GitHub > all.

You're right. I cocked that one up slightly. I forgot to include the word 'not'.
After work I went for a drink with my colleagues and had one too many. Correcting it now.

I was doing #4, but I moved to 3 simply because it seems to streamline a little better and I don't have a million module managers being loaded and slowing down the initial load. So I'd actually suggest there's a fifth option where it's "Know enough to not completely need CKAN, but not enough to give up the crutch" :P But that's just a nitpick.

But Its For Those That Use Steam. For Me I Cant Get The Mods Installed And Gotten To The Required Folder Because I Cant Find The Correct Folder Due To The Location. I Use Windows 10.

Right-click the game listing in your Steam library and select Properties. In the window that pops up, select the Local Files tab and click "Browse Local Files."

It is recommended that you copy this whole folder to a new location and put mods in that copy instead of the Steam one. To run such a modded install, you can either:

  1. Browse to that folder and launch from there
  2. Add the new location to the Start Menu apps
  3. Pin the new location to Start
  4. point CKAN to that directory and use CKAN as your KSP launcher (recommended)
  5. in Steam, in the File menu, "Add a non-Steam game" and point it to the new location.
