When your English teacher says to write an 'example' paragraph regarding flowers, but with an obvious target audience, and you write two pages about genetic drift and migratory patterns.

Not sure if she understood anything. She seemed confused

When you've watched 140 rocket launch broadcasts in the last 4 years.
When you stay up all hours of the night to see random astronomical phenomena
When you can completely eyeball a duna transfer
When you play in a scale inbetween stock and RSS/RO because stock size is boring and RSS is too hard.

when your friends constantly hear you muttering about supersonic retropropulsion and delta vee

You know you are a nerd when you integrate the volume of a pyramid (or any other pointy 3D object)... in class.

You know you are a nerd when the rest of the class watches a film (because Technology!! and last day of school before Christmas) and you complain about how unrealistic it is. You then decide that drawing an approximation of the Mandelbrot Set is a better use of your time.

I do similar things in math lessons. The work we do should go over multiple days (90 minute lessons, two days per week), but I'm done with it 10 minutes before the end of the first day. So I've got over 90 minutes doing nothing.

Time to draw some Lissajous curves, Julia sets or other (mathematical) stuff and get looked at weirdly from everyone else!

When you think knowing the answer to an equation in class makes you cool.

When you wish for more movies like Interstellar and The Martin.

When the gym is your worst enemy.

When all you think about is how to efficiently get to one place to another.

When you have a shelf dedicated to Lego instruction booklets.

Also when you use winter for an excuse for staying indoors.

When you're trying to make a Lego stop motion movie about space but try and make the orbital mechanics realistic and get irritated by the fact that you have to make your rockets square.

I'd like to see this stop motion, when you finish, if you don't mind....
