Anyone else here like to play Space Engine? Want to share interesting places you've found? This is the place! I haven't seen a thread like this, so I thought I'd post one. Here are a few nice places I found today:

This stuff is so nice I set my desktop to shuffle my Space Engine screenshot directory. Anyway, what are your favorite planets you've found?

One time I found a planet that looked almost exactly like Eve with rings. Another time I found a green gas giant.

(I admit it, all I look for in that game are planets that look like things from KSP)

In fact, there is a thread like this, but it's hidden somewhere a few tens of pages back... I know because once I made a thread exactly like this, and it was merged with the previous one (which wasn't anywhere in the first 10 pages).:)

@silversliver Nice! Makes me want to play with that "Edit Planet" menu now!

Sadly with the internal editor you can't do much except modifying the sea level, the atmosphere and the auroras but it's fun regardless.

Anyone: please donate to them so they can make a Mac version...  I can't play it...

So... Is there a thread where @silversliver unloads his Space Engine wisdom upon the masses? :D

No supermassive black holes or neutron stars?

Not sure about supermassive black holes (regular ones though) although I do remember there being neutron stars.

There are supermassive black holes. If you go to any galaxy, then zoom in without changing the camera angle it will be perfectly focused on the exact center, there you will find a very big black hole.

Huh. I tried that but didn't notice it being any bigger than a regular one.

I recall seeing in the UI where it tells info about the selected body that it's mass was several billion suns and it's diameter several AU. It's hard to tell because there's nothing to compare it to, no smaller black holes orbiting near it.

I like the new accretion disks in the 0.9.7.4 beta:

Reminds me of Interstellar, although none of these have planets remotely near enough to the black hole to be illuminated by the disk in any way.

Dude, you do know that you can make ksp mods with space engine

I've experimented with Kopernicus some, but haven't been able to get my rocky worlds working quite right so I dropped it. I also got the KSP planet pack for Space Engine, and that worked well except Minmus which was buggy. There's a lot that can be done with Space Engine, that's for sure!
