Game crashing with about 59 Mods installed | MARK II

Recommended Posts

Alright I tried posting this one earlier but something happened to the message of the first one and become blank... no idea why.

So I'm running KSP with about 59 Mods according to KSP-AVC but CKAN says 97 since not all of them are gameplay or part mods. ( e.g Contracts, textures and the like )

I'm also running it in DX11 mode with DTL, and I have a more than capable system for KSP. Every now and then I would crash and I'd like to find out if it's because of a mod or simply running out of system memory.

Attached is a zip of six output_log's. Size is about 2.60MB for the download.

But even without the logs, the cause of the crashes most likely is running out of memory.

Check how much memory KSP is using when the crash occurs.

To fix the crashes, get rid of memory intensive mods such as TextureReplacer, cloud mods, Scatterer etc.

I can't really tell what what the RAM usage is when it crashes. I don't use any intensive mods that replace visuals, only EVE with just the clouds and Distance object enhancer for when I'm docking. Running KSP on Half Res or Full Res makes no difference only increases GPU RAM Usage which is fine.

Here's a new link to the logs! Attachment Same file just different source.

I really think it's a mod causing the crashes.

Mods rarely cause crashes by themselves apart from memory crashes.

Use taskmanager to determine memory usage.

Also, try removing DynamicTextureLoader.

Removing DTL will make it worse IMO. Usage is about 3GB.

Anything on the logs?

I don't see anything in your output_log.txt. Can you post the other logs too? Nevertheless, 59 mods are, like @Shurikeeen pointed out, very likely to cause crashes due to memory issues. It is the same for everyone. Look in your crash.dmp. You can check there for your memory usage.

How would I view the contents of "crash.dmp" ?

Any way to reduce DRAM usage? I'm already running in DX11 with DTL, so all the textures are already on VRAM, just need a way to reduce DRAM usage.
