I have encountered a bug where, when trying to save at the KSC (not in flight), a message tells me "Creating saves is not allowed in this scenario"/

Seems that KRASH thinks I'm still in a simulation??

Log file, please.

Are you running the latest version?

It turned out quicksave got disabled, somehow. I renabled it in the debug menu. Does this mod touch quicksaves? Because I definitely did not disable it myself. I'll post the logfile when I can.

KRASH disables quicksave while the simulation is in progress.  It is supposed to reenable the quicksave when the sim is complete.

Log would be useful, thanks

Here's the log. Another bug to report that I believe is related to this mod, is that I suddenly lost the ability to access the ESC/pause menu while in flight. I'm not sure what caused it, but it may have to do with switching vessels and Kerbals while in flight, as I was on the runway switching between my main ship, a couple rovers that I deployed from it, and Kerbals on EVA on the ground. A quick glance at the output log shows Null Reference Exceptions related to KRASH.

When I turned this simulation on (in 64 bit modded KSP on a gaming computer) and it lagged my game SO BAD, it was freezing and unfreezing constantly. Was not able to disable simulation. Please help. Then after a while, it actually did crash my game.  If the issues I stated here can be fixed then I will be very happy as I want to use this mod.

Would be nice if you could get me a log, otherwise I can't do anything

Hey @linuxgurugamer Ran into a little issue with this mod last night, which is still preventing me from saving today...

I was attempting to test a basic plane but I had too many parts for the SPH (sidenote, would it be possible bypass this and allow the tests just giving the warning that you need to upgrade). So it was late and I just wanted a quick look at something so changed to deploy on the Pad instead, this gave the Green icon allowing it to go, however it then stated unable to launch due to the SPH parts limit.

I then left the SPH to save and goto bed, however the simulation running text was flashing (on the KSC screen), this prevented saving. Tried to enter the SPH and run a sim with a plane that would launch but still had the issue with saving after leaving.

So I just quit the game. Gone back in today and ran a few normal missions then when trying to save, its still not allowing it

Open the persistent.sfs file, find the following lines:

	SCENARIO
	{
		name = KRASHPersistent
		scene = 5, 6, 7, 8, 5
		shelterSimulationActive = True
		selectedCostsCfg = * Normal
	}

Change the True to False and try again

Thanks for the reply, I've checked the persistent and its showing False already, so not sure whats happening with it.

Its not a major issue I can try going back a few saves. I was letting you know mostly so you could prevent it happening to other people.

Edit: then again it won't let me load any specific saves now either.

Edit 2: the enable quicksave/load had become unticked in the F12 menu, assume Krash does that during the sim? Anyway fine for me now.

Beta version is now on Github for 1.2

Thanks for providing a beta version for the pre-release!

I downloaded it and installed it on a fresh pre1.2 but I couldn't get it to work. The interface loads fine but trying to start a simulation in the VAB only leads to null ref spam in the log.

Am I missing a dependency?

Do you want me to provide logs?

Interesting idea, but not really feasible.  Time needs to run,I would suggest just timewarping to the correct time.

KCT has this feature. I'm not sure what you mean by "Time needs to run". And timewarping to the correct time costs money.

I just uploaded a recompiled version.

When I tested, I got a few null refs when starting, and a few more when ending.  It wasn't spamming, I'll be looking at this in the next day or so

Thanks

I downloaded KRASH-0.5.21.3 from your github release page. Weirdly enough it says you've published it on the 5th August.

I loaded up an existing career save and tried to start a simulation from the VAB. The simulation did not start and I just remained in the VAB. In the console I found a long string of error messages including null refs. I have uploaded the log to you here:

http://pastebin.com/r61FxV4F

trouble starts on line 2481

hope this helps in any way :P

The publish date is referencing the last non-pre-release.

Thanks for the log, it will help

Well, one thing I found is that you are running build 1494

I'm running 1479, I forgot to update my local version

Found and fixed a couple of problems, I've uploaded a new release to Github, you can get it here: https://github.com/linuxgurugamer/KRASH/releases/download/0.5.21.4/KRASH-0.5.21.4.zip

If you still have problems, please do the following:

1.  Save both the game and the log file in a zip

2. Install the DLL in this zip file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/i6nyfbo4551mvi1/krash.zip?dl=0 and try it again, send me the log from this as well

Also, please detail exactly what you do, every key click until you see the problems.

Thanks

Well, we're apparently on build 1500 now. I accidentally updated the game but I think it's not too bad working on the newest version of the game? :) Sandbox seems fine (at least the bug I will detail below doesn't seem to occur) but career still seems broken.

Description: Unable to start simulation from VAB in career mode save. Button press on GUI registers, errors appear in logs, still in VAB

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Launch KSP 64bit from steam
  2. Main menu: Start New (Save Name: default, Game Mode: career, Flag: default, Difficulty Options: Normal)
  3. (dismiss tutorial prompt), Enter VAB, (dismiss tutorial prompt)
  4. add Mk1 Command Pod
  5. click on SIM icon in stock app bar
  6. click Start simulation

Expected result: Simulation starts

http://pastebin.com/ecesUtdR

Next, I installed the DLL you have linked replacing the old one. Steps to reproduce same as above. Bug occurs just the same.

http://pastebin.com/mgvLV6Zp

Tell me if you want me to poke around and see what else triggers this behaviour (different difficulty levels, KRASH presets, game modes). I'd be glad to help.

This will help.  I've been testing in Sandbox, now that I've gotten it stable, I'll be able to look into the career.

FYI, the two DLLs are the same version of code, just one with debugging and one without.  I had some odd results between the two a while ago, just wanted to be sure it wasn't a factor
