A little while ago I manually shut down KSP because of some serious lag issues. After relaunching the game, hitting "Resumed Saved" doesn't do anything. No matter how many times I relaunch the game, it still doesn't work. My save files are still in the correct location and seem to be just fine. Any ideas?

My guess is that something with your persistent save file got messed up. If you have a quicksave (or a named quicksave from pressing Alt+F5) you can delete the persistent.sfs file (make a backup first just to be safe), copy the quicksave and rename the copy to persistent.sfs.  Then launch the game and you'll hopefully be able to load like normal.

Sounds like KSP was saving right when you closed it. If so, that means one of the saves are now corrupt.

Similar to above, except I recommend moving (not deleting) the save directory first to verify that is the problem. Start first with the folder for the save you were playing. You also don't have to restart KSP, just leave it at the start menu.

KSP might also give you an error in the debug log, which you can bring up in the debug menu with either ALT+F2 or ALT+F12 (windows). That might tell you which file fails, but I can't remember for sure off hand.

Once you confirm thw save, then replace the persistence.sfs with a quicksave as recommended above. I also recommend keeping copies of the save incase you hit another issue and the save gets further messed up.

I find jebretary invaluable for this, it is a Git based versioning system which keeps a copy of *every* save, quicksave, craft, and subassembly you ever make so if anything happens short of deleting your game folder you can usually recover to a point not too far back.

It won`t help you now but it will prevent you suffering in the same way in the future.
