I wouldn't want to be on the EVA crew for that job.

Sure you would!

"Why do we need this big facility on the Moon, anyway?"

"Because we need guys to to work!"

"Doing what? Why so many guys?"

"Putting the dirt over the big facility requires a lot of guys."

“Why not use robots?”

“Because these guys here need a job!”

It's okay, they will hire local outsourcers.

Wouldn't it be better to make Boring Company - style bricks from the regolith and build a dome above the buildings?

The classics never dies.

The Idea of using "Mooncrete" is far older than the Boring Company.

Using simple bags filled with Moondust seems far easier though, atleast until you bring a furnace.

Though not just simple bags, but chains of sausages (like on the photo), as they should cover the hut with protective layer and don't support a weight.

(On Mars they could produce plastic packages from local resources, and that's an ISRU theme. Simple polyethylene of poor quality).

Well there goes anything larger and more advanced than another bunch of tin cans that last only a few years for at least a decade.

Not really. Bigelow did not invent this, they took NASA design work that is available to others:

Sierra Nevada Corp.

Not that anyone will give them the funding to do this for the next...oh look, a decade, and even those Dream-Chasers give NASA violent flashbacks.

BO and Sierra got $130M from NASA. Nanoracks/LockMart also got money for their expandable.
