New Easter egg discovered

Has anyone noticed that there is an orange circle on Bop? To see- go to  http://www.kerbalmaps.com/   and go to the bop map. Then, go to these co-ordinates- 3 S, 72 W or -3, -72. There is an orange circle! If you can't see it, just zoom in. It becomes very visible!

Are you sure that's not an artifact of the mapping and actually appears in game?

While I don't think this really qualifies as an Easter Egg, I just went and looked, and sure enough, I see what you are talking about.  Now I'm curious if it appears in the game itself.

 

OK, I just went and fired up the game, and I'm not seeing anything like a nice, round circle on Bop itself.  I'm thinking this may be a glitch on the map website.

Indeed, there's quite a large and obvious orange circle visible on the KerbalMaps image, even without zooming in, but since I've never noticed it in-game, I suspect that it's just an idiosyncrasy of the KerbalMaps website.

Tentative confirmation of the existence of the easter egg (slightly orange highlight on the tiles under the ship - those only started appearing after about 60km). Location is roughly as indicated on kerbalmaps, though it's not visible at all in map view.

EDIT: as you approach it appears more circular. It's far from the perfect circle on the map though.

I'm guessing with terrain changes they got rid of this one...

i tried to find it last time i was at bop, and i couldn't find anything at the coordinates reported.

The terrain shading issue on Bop has been around for a very long time.  Not sure what it’s like in the current version, but in the past I’ve taken rovers to the edges of the terrain issue, and sure enough there were very straight lines on the surface, where the color abruptly changed shades.

I believe that issue is visual/graphic only, and does not affect gameplay in any way.  Although there are, or have been, other terrain issues on Bop (and other bodies) to watch out for.
