Cause I have a bad one.

My Processor is Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-4005U CPU @ 1.70GHz   1.70 GHz

Installed RAM 4.00 GB

System type           64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Will this be good for KSP 1.1?

I think you'll need a better processor and maybe 2 gb more ram so you have some breathing room.

Also, rename it "Will this run KSP 1.1?", it'll make more sense that way.

ok but can it be; May ksp run on these graphics on 1.1?

What about me? My system runs at 12.5fps whenever I have more than 100 parts. My system:

intel pentium D 940

Those Pentium D's are oldies. An upgrade to something relatively modest, but modern, like a Pentium G3258, should yield a massive performance increase. It should not cost an arm and a leg either.

Edit: a quick check reveals that these Pentium D's are 10 years old. In reality even a little bit older, since they are quite literally two Pentium 4's stuck together.

What about AMD A4-5300 APU with 6GB RAM?

Or rather, why does it go into yellow as soon as I make a rover with over 40 parts?

Because AMD processors have been comparatively slow over the last few years and that was their cheapest entry level chip at that time.

Darn it, that I didn't know! Hmm... seems a new CPU is in order

Please, wait until we know what 1.1 actually does. It will likely bring a performance increase for most people, especially those with CPU's with a weak single threaded performance. This is absolutely the worst time to randomly start buying hardware. 1.1 might very well increase performance on the same hardware, and it will almost certainly change the type of PC that will run KSP well.

Just wait and see. Holding out is the only sensible course of action at the moment.

Well, if I do get a new CPU, it'll be thoroughly researched before that, don't worry, and thanks!

Funny thing tho, exactly the same physics slowdown happens in both 1.0.5 and 1.1 prerelease with the same craft, even when I rebuild it completely from scratch... Even if the rest of the game performs much better!

DO NOT know how it will perform on those graphics.

But I think this is the recommended specs

64 bit

2.4 GHz

16 GB ram

64 bit is the only one that ,makes any sense. GHz says nothing without additional information about the architecture, generation and model. 16 GB is huge overkill. I doubt that even the most enthusiastic player with a massively modded install will ever reach 8 GB.

Actually, the Windows specs on Steam are as follows:

  • Minimum:
    • OS:Windows Vista or 7
    • Processor:Core 2 Duo
    • Memory:3GB RAM
    • Graphics:SM3 512MB VRAM
    • Hard Drive:4 GB HD space
  • Recommended:
    • OS:Windows 8 or 10 64 bit
    • Processor:Core i5
    • Memory:4 GB RAM
    • Graphics:SM4 1GB VRAM
    • Hard Drive:6 GB HD space

Though well intended, those specifications do not tell us a lot. With 1.05, a modern i3 will score better than an earlier i5. We are not even talking about mobile chips versus desktop yet. The 1.1 situation changes everything yet again. You cannot take these specifications as anything else than a very broad initial guesstimation.
